Re: [HumJanenge] Re: RTI challenges

As an NRI obviously you cannot be expected to be as well informed
about India as Indians are. This years winter session of Parliament
effectively sat for under 7 hours and cost the exchequer Rs.160 crores
(as per media reports). It is allegedly the most unproductive session
in the last 25 years.

I may also mention that the badly drafted RTI Act 2005 was rushed
through Parliament in 2005 with so many changes (which now affect us)
because the opposition BJP similarly had chosen to sit out that
period.

I surmise you are on this list because you are the US Coordinator for
Amitabh Thakur's NRTIF and have been included because of the misplaced
enthusiasm of the list owners to be some sort of rainbow coalition of
RTI. I would go further and request list owners/moderators to remove
all email IDs of NTRF office bearers.
