Dear Rajaa Bunch,
Please let me clarify. Maam is not to be confused with slang short form of Madam in clloquial English. I am aware that Bhaskar Prabhu is a man.
In Konkani "Maam" can be loosely construed as, stands for Maamaaji of Hindi, or potpourri culture uncleji; in fact it is a sign o reverence to a starnger ere he becomes an acquaintance or later a friend.
No offence my friend Bunch.
Regards,
WEDS
