Re: [IAC#RG] Commission's Order admitting True Up Petition of TPDDL dt. 16.01.2013

Dear Mr. Menon

I think it is incorrect to say that TATAs are an ethical business house. The statement is complete rubbish. Firstly no business house in India can be ethical and also stay in business.  Secondly, Tatas are the beneficiaries of the British Govt's patronage, whereas Ambani's were originally the beneficiaries of Congress Govt patronage.

Tatas operate in several licenced industries as direct competitor to Reliance. Examples in Power distribution, Power generation, telecom, Retail distribution etc. These are all highly regulated sectors where licences are at a premium. Kindly explain to me how it was arranged that when electricity distribution in Delhi was privatised in 2001 into 3 zones, there was exactly 1 and only one bid for each zone - and Tatas got the zone with the best profile. At the time the deal could not have gone through unless BOTH the Congress and the BJP agreed.

In the instant case DERC case the situation is as follows:-

There is a massive racket run by senior politicians of stolen power in North Delhi areas (where Tata is the Discom) of Narela and Bawana where power for industries (at about Rs. 6-7 per unit) is being diverted and blackmarketed into illegal jhuggies at Rs. 12-15 per unit. The politicians cut across party lines but are mainly Congress. The profit is Rs. 300 crores each year in only these 2 areas

The persons Arvind restored in Tata Discom area were habitual bijli thieves who have been raided and booked 42 times previously (outstandings to tune of 23 lakhs) and had actually been disconnected from the pole. The corrupt politicians running this racket arranged that Arvind would stage his little drama of climbing up the lader and restoring power from OUTSIDE. The electrician Solanki is the local bijli thekedar whose earnings are directly affected. So in the NDPL/TATA case Arvind (assisted by Solanki) actually did restore electricity and allow the power theft to continue to benefit the Congress.

When Arvind tried the same stunt in BSES (Ambani) area he had no local cooperation and pulled a hoax. BSES complained to Delhi Power Minister (his constituency falls under them) and he immediately ordered a FIR which was later blocked when Tatas pulled strings with Sonia.

From this you can make out how ethical Tatas are.

If you want to know how I know all this or how accurate my info is,  I am that person who filed a contempt petition in SC (CCP 117/2006) against the DERC's  Secy in Dec 2005 (which lasted till Aug 2011) detailing all of this racket and although there was only 2 hearings in the case, as long as my petition was on record the Govt/DERC/DISCOMS could hardly increase the electricity rates of Delhi in the face of DERC's own audited figures. I was also the person who brought Delhi's Discoms under RTI in 2006. So yes I am an expert (more than Arvind is) in this area.

Dear Sir,

Good morning.

This time too - contents of your mail seem to convey more about personal liking and disliking than fighting corruption. Arvind, Baba Ramdev, Kiran Bedi, G en VK Singh, so may others and of course IAC all are fighting common enemy ie corruption. Do not we have much bigger chors in political dispensation than Arvind ? I am not from AAP but I find that some IAC's mails are more direct towards AAP, Ramdev, Anna, Gen VK than desired.

In one of the discussions some time back - some one had very rightly commented that in our case good is fighting against better and better fighting against best and BAD/worst is enjoying all this.

TATAs are still the most ethical business house in the country. They may not be 100% pure by my or yours interpretation since they are also doing business in today's environment. We should target others who are looting the country in connivance with govt rather attacking TATAs who are far superior to many in the business activities. If all business houses come to TATA's level of ethical practices - we have reasons to be happy.

Sir, how come except IAC and some of us rest all are corrupt. No one is 100% pure as GOD. If corrupt politicians can join hands then why we all are busy in in-fighting. This has to stop forthwith else IAC will be reduced to a key-board warriors debating club and others will exhaust their energy in in-fighting and corrupts will enjoy. Simply put - My enemy's enemy is my friend and with this logic anyone who is fighting institutional/governmental corruption is on our side.

Sir, we need Arvind for his way of struggle, we need Anna - We need Kiran - we need Gen VK Singh - we need IAC and we need all. This in-fighting and scoring point culture has to stop in the interest of our common objective.

I am sure that interface which will unite all of us can be provided by IAC and for this I personally like you to take the credit. I request and am sanguine that you will consider my view point.

With high regards.

SR
Regards,

SR
