AT CIC and SICs, there must be some system of acknowledging and issuing registaration number within a fix time period say one month of the receipt of the Second Appeal or Complaint so that the appellants do not remain in dark about his communication to CIC.
Now, there is no effective system and status on the website is not updated frequently or time to time. Therefore, the status of cases on the website should be updated on regular interval. In the absence of this, one wait for his turn sometime indefinately and over a period of time, on many occasion have to forget/ abandon his case at the Commission. The position of appellant residing far away from the office of the Commissions is more worse and pity though RTI is a fundamental right.
My two appeals/complaints were delivered at Junagarh in Gujart and third appeal at High Court at Chennai. I came to know about the delivery at Junagarh from searching delivery record on India Post Website and about the delivery of other case at Chennai by filing an RTI to the Postal Department.
The diary numbers of some other pending cases are 44699 and 50756 against Cabinet Secretariat which were listed to be heard by former CCIC, Mr. Wajahat Habibullah. These belong to the period from June 2009 to Sept. 2009. I am waiting for hearing some of my cases filed as early as in June, 2009 against DDA and one one appeal against Caninet Secretariat delivered on 8.9.2009. Though, sometime back, it was in the minutes of the CIC that all the old cases of over 6 month will be disposed on priority basis.

Hi Sarbajit/Anybody,
What's the following from an unknown sender:-
post office do not accept second appeals to CIC.
post office only accepts initial application and first appeals.
Pls. clarify who is right.
==============
Clarifications pls.:-
Now, after sending the CIC Appeal by Speed Post from Bangalore, will any of the CIC staff have the courtesy to send across a 'Reference No.' by Post or through other means or is there some stuff on their website to track the status of the CIC Appeal? I heard that it's a 6 month waiting period for the Appeal Hearing Date. Is it true? Atleast some sort of Reference No., Tracking system, Communication, Interaction will be useful, if not, one will be in the dark for around 6 months and later if there are any procedural mistakes by the RTI Applicant, it'll be a waste of time. I guess that you are based in Delhi, near CIC. Pls. clarify the Procedure.
CHEERS!
Rakesh
