In the CIC's Minutes of Meting dated 01.Feb.2011 they had they little
supplementary item
- All letters sent to CIC in ;language other than English or Hindi
shall be returned with an
advice that they may be sent with a translated English/Hindi version.
Now here is what our Constitution of India says
"PART XVII
CHAPTER IV.-SPECIAL DIRECTIVES
350. Language to be used in representations for redress of grievances.-
Every person shall be entitled to submit a representation for the
redress of any grievance to any officer or authority of the Union or a
State in any of the languages used in the Union or in the State, as
the case may be."
As A CENTRAL (ie "Union") officer the CIC is duty bound to accept
grievance petitions in ANY of the languages of the Union, and for this
the DoPT is bound to provide them all required resources.
