Re: [IAC#RG] Fw: Forget Gujarat: Look at the Congress Record: It is Shocking

Hello Pavan Nair,

Greetings.

Are you a resident of Gujarat? Or were you staying in Gujrata during 2002? I am.
I think you are gathering your vehemence from your memory or secondary data reports.

"The violence raged largely between 28 February and 3 March, and after a drop, restarted on 15 March, continuing until mid-June.
a b Paul R. Brass (2005). The Production Of Hindu-Muslim Violence In Contemporary India. University of Washington Press. pp. 385–393. ISBN 978-0-295-98506-0."

I, as resident of Gujarat, know spontaneous public outrage was for 3-4 days post train burning at Godhra. After 15th March, some elements were interested in rekindling riots in remote places by sponsored violence, which was not supported by public and was promptly dealt with. Miscreants were disliked and therefore the sporadic events never gathered wind.

You like NaMo or not, you like BJP or not is not the issue when discussing facts in public life. Sorry boss,  my first hand knowledge has no commonality with your knowledge about duration of Gujarat riots.

Best regards,
-Joshi NM

Dear wg co chadda. Gen malhotra has only forwarded a mail doing the rounds of the internet. The riots in gujarat did not last for one or two weeks. They went on for seven weeks or more. Modi could have asked the PM also from the BJP to fly in a division or two of the army. The riots wd hv been controlled in a week. He did ask for the army. Just a brigade. Gen malhotra will tell you that that is 12 columns or only 1200 boots on the ground. Completely inadequate. I hold the PM equally guilty. He cd have ordered a division more to be flown in even though Op Parikram was on. There is a provision in the constitution for the center to take over even though law and order is a state subject. ABV has not forgiven himself for that lapse. Of course the congress was equally responsible for the delhi riots even though Rajiv had been PM for a few days.  Col Pavan Nair. Veteran

Dear Mr. Sarabjit

The facts mentioned by Gen Malhotra are opening. The inference drawn by you is rubbish.
Your arguement ia absolutly baseless. The data given by General clearly mentions that all the
riots have taken place only under Congress government. Why there is such hue and cry over
Gujrat riots.
Till date no commission / enquiry or even the court has blamed Modiji. It was a retaliation by mob
after Godhra incident. Please learn to accept truth and stop misinterpret / misrepresent the facts.
If Modiji's governance has been good in Gujrat, what stops you to accept it. Your knowledge on some issues
may be good but it does not mean that people will fall in line of your imagination.
Many salutes to General Deepak Malhotra who must have really worked hard to provide such data.
