Re: [HumJanenge] Rules for Improving India using the Right to Information laws

Dear Sarbajit Royji,

With the information received by RTI, it should be sent to responsilbe authorities(related govt agencies)  with request to stop such scam in future. After one-two months waiting or sending reminders during one-two months, RTI should be filed to seek action taken on your complaint/request to stop scam.

Such use will compel them to think over improvements in the prevailing practice. That is, filing complaint and then filing RTI on action  taken on complaint should be continuous cycle . Please suggest whether it will serve the purpose.

YOU (???) stopped this pension scam. It is not YOUR place to stop it. It is the job of the Govt (incl. its own agencies) to monitor itself to see that such scams do not occur / continue.

Let me assume for a moment that you are an "RTI activist". How did you USE RTI to stop this scam. (Or did you "mis"use RTI to stop this scam ?). Did you get information and what did you do with it ?

Sir,
By using RTI, I have been able to stop illegal old age pensions (being
given to dead) to about 1 lakh beneficiaries. A lot of people may be
misusing RTI but a still larger number is using RTI for good cause.
