The answer to your question how one can fast for 10 years is that Sharmila Irom refused to eat and that was threatening for her life. As suicide is considered a crime in India, she was arrested in Nov 2000 under that and then she has been kept under arrest for all 10 years and force fed with a tube. But without that force feeding she is still refusing to eat, maintaining her fast until death. She has lost almost all weight and don't know how long more will she survive this. --- On Wed, 4/13/11, LESLIE ALMEIDA <lesals2000@yahoo.com> wrote:

I fail to understand how one can fast for 10 years.Maybe from sunrise to sunset Citizens of India are fed up of corruption, both young and old joined the movement.it spread like wild fire, on their own accord they joined the movement the media too played a vital part. however Kapil Sibil statement after that was unwarrented, if the poor need education there is Right to education, there are free schools atleast in Mumbai where they get even free meals and transport.if the poor need medical attention why does one need to call up the Politician, there are free Government hospitals. in other words he admits that red tape exists in civil society, and that the Government wont change for a better India. as Anna rightly pointed out that if Sibil has a negative approach he should quit the committee. --- On Tue, 4/12/11, DSouza Wilberious Evanglist <wilevades@yahoo.co.uk> wrote:
