Re: [IAC#RG] URGENT: Important group notice

@Hemant:

Shariat Court : Found in Pakistan etc. Has no statutory place in India unless both parties opt for it. Yes, Muslim Sharia Law may be considered as very unfair to Muslim women, a feeling which has been amplified by some judgments and posture of various governments. Is an internal issue for Muslim community in India.

Polygamy practice :Ancient Hindu society practiced both Polygamy and Polyandry and Hindus had no problems ? Islamic law says a Muslim man MAY have up to 4 wives, it does not say that each and every Muslim man MUST have 4 wives. Is an internal issue for Muslim community in India. Do you know that  Brahmins STILL have the legal right in Hindu law to have even 100 wives and cannot be prosecuted for bigamy (unless the fact of previous marriages was suppressed to the affected wife). This right is not available to the other castes. However, the moment even 1 of their marriages take place under secular law (ie. Special marriages Act) all further polygamous marriages are stopped.

Oawasi Speech :  So what, big deal ??. Praveen Togadia's speech cancels it out.

Polygamy is allowed under Hindu Law also to many persons other than Brahmins.

Special Courts: Muslims have Daruls, Hindus have Khaps, Christians have priests etc. These are all speedy extra-judicial methods which nobody can be compelled to participate in. If anybody chooses to opt out of religion, there is an existing comprehensive secular civil law of India for that person to take shelter under.

Modern School:  Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attended Modern School New Delhi. Can the Indian State provide such Modern School to each and every Indian child ? That day minorities will join it to send their children there. .

Population Control: It seems that sperm count of Hindus is getting weak these days due to their rich lifestyle. Persons like some leading PM candidates are setting a very poor example for Hindus if they cannot father at least 1 Hindu child from marriage before dedicating themselves to the service of the nation. OTH, we can understand why after seeing our Hon'ble President son's utterances. Vicky Donor movement zindabad..

State has tampered and interfered with all religions not only Hinduism. Usually it has done so for the better, except in case of Muslims where it has made the law even more retrograde than Pakistan and Bangladesh. Indian Muslim women are so disadvantaged compared to Bangladeshi women because of vote bank politics and appeasement.. That is a POLITICAL problem not a Religious problem.

Is it the Muslim women who are coming on the the streets when Salman Rushdie writes a book or is it a small section of Muslim men ?

So at the end of it all you come to the same conclusion as me - that citizens (cutting across religious lines) are the VICTIMS of politics and religions when mixed together.

I disagree with your soluton - to abdicate your religious responsibilities - it is foolish - if you are a TRUE HINDU say proudly "Garv se kaho - Hum Hindu Hain" so that haraamis cannot take away even this right to say it. Spread this message - Hinduism is as secular a religion as Islam is.

All religions teach you to know instinctively what is right and what is wrong. What is good and what is bad. What is pure and what is corrupt. That is all one needs to know. Essence of all religions is "Be good do good". It is only people who cannot be good who get exploited by priestly class and other vested elements in their religions. So the more priests, mullahs, fathers, temples, mosques and churches etc. you see sprouting everywhere, the more you know that evil is spreading and good is losing. This is a global problem, USA is sending their Christian preachers to India, as is Suadi and Iran their Muslim ones. India is no laggard as long as we have persons like Baba Ramdev.

If there is anything else I am not aware of,please update my knowledge.

Dear Mr. Sarbarjit Roy,

As usual in your discussion, you catch the only point that you are aware of. let us try shariat court? or polygamy practice? or Owasi speech?  I understand that you are just providing me your knowledge (and I am grateful for the same), maybe these may be flaws but I never have understood the meanings and incidences associated with the points as below:-

a) To ensure equality among all Indians when dealing with the State, or when the State deals with them

Polygamy is allowed for secular group? (Banned in our cooperative countries)
Have separate courts?
Have different laws for divorce?  (Banned in our cooperative countries)
Not wanting to attend modern school.
No population control operation.(Banned in our cooperative countries)

b) To ensure that no religion is favoured or targeted or victimized or interfered etc by the State.

From my limited experience, state has being certainly following this stance vice versa for hindus, it always interferes with hindu religion. For secular class, well they can destroy Jay jawan smarak, molest police women and what not in mumbai for something happened in the distant land, stone pelt on our army personnel, and of course, then state has to "victimize" them. They are really a victim and our politicians and social members mumble uselessly on secularism.

I am against all religions, face what the truth is, let us be equal, let us lower the paper work in our constitution and legal framework, maybe the scenario will change.

Regards,

Hemant K
