I agree with the Brigadier.

It is quite possible that such sick mentalities of certain individuals when they are growing up or even when they get married become visible but visiting a psychatrist is avoided by relatives simply because it is considered that this amounts to ultimately turning a person into a lunatic.Awareness is very essential and the subject may be included at school level in social sciences.

Self Defence must be taught as a subject in School to all girls.

I don't think think that a harsher punishment is the cure

Rather I feel somewhere its the mentality that needs to change. But then its a big question on how to identify and change ones mentality

But then yes a harsh punishment will surely act as a deterrent
