Re: [rti4empowerment] Wherefrom President of india, CM of Delhi, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Railway Minister, CM of Karnataka etc

I agree with you.  When some labourer is injured due to the careless of any govt. agency or otherwise, govt. grant him compensation of Rs 20K or 50K max. On death, it is up to 2 Lakh stating shortage of funds and for taking that, his relatives have to make unaccounted rounds of govt. offices and have to submitted numerous documents, some time even such documents that are really not needed.

But, Centre and States have showered crores or rupees and doled other benefits too in competition with each other though these players are already very prosperous and do not need any more.  Apart from Cricket, they are also running from advts promotions. They will not be able to even spend the interest on their earned and awarded money.  Such things are also widening the gap between poor and the rich.  Interestingly, I have not heard if any Cricketer has donated some amount for any social cause.  The players belonging to other sports also feel ignored in such cases. For playing match, Cricket bodies give them payment and no body plays for free for the name of the country.

These are the cases of giving more and more to those who do not need at the cost of haves not.

No doubt, they have brought honour to the Nation for which we are grateful to them and that was also their patrotic duty.  Country will be grateful if some players donate some per centage of the award money for any social cause.

Cricket, especially high end, is established to be a medium for scams and corruption and having known this if "our players who by now has turned celebrities" continues to play it is only proof that the future leaders, who the media motivate as 'be the change, lead India and so on are all integral part of these scam and corruption with almost unlimited privileges at the cost of common man and the poor! This was evident when some of our cricket icons after amassing wealth commented favouring the authorities and the stampede during the
Bangalore match on inability to provide tickets for common man!  The contry has applauded and motivated them to their iconic positions and when they reach that position
they ahve proved not different from any other powers that be! Cricket in India with the way it is managed, preferred, motivated, being exclusive to VVIPs and so on in that sense, appear to have brought about more harm than good for the country!

Dear All,

It is a matter of pride that Indian Cricket team won world cup. Has anyone given thought  Wherefrom President of India, CMs of Delhi, Karnataka, Mumbai Jharkhand, Union Railway Minister etc., derive the empowerment or authority to squander public funds to benefit private Individuals by granting Rs. 1 crore & plots/flats etc to cricketers when 76% of Indian population subsist by earning Rs 25 per day?  What is the benefit these cricket players have given to general public? Why stash their pockets when they are already billionaires?

Why not file a PIL just as some Pakistanis have filed for awarding Rs. 5 lac per cricketer there?

Regards,
WEDS
