Re: [HumJanenge] CVC to resign and be appointed as CIC

What pressure could RTI Actvists bring on the powers-that-be to ensure that Mr Thomas resigns,as of his own he is certainly not going to do ?
Millions of people need to send mails to PM to ensure that voice of the people is heard If campaigns could be built for getting maximum votes for Tajmahal,to be included as part of new 7 wonders of the worl,as per poll conducted by a private Agency, why can't similar enthusiasm be shown in a matter thats of vital importance to the nation?
Once again there's need to reiterate the position that trivia be avoided on all RTI fora and very serious stuff, very relevant and value-addition type  alone be posted.
Even before the case could come up before the Apex Court which has sought response to the Notice issued today(06.12.2010) the current incumbent MUST be made to resign through peoples' sustained campaign.
No one harbours any personal animosity against Mr Thomas but like Caesar's wife any appointee for CVC like post needs to be above any type of suspicion.
What the Apex Court says in several celebrated judgements is to have in public interest all actions that are the best under the circumstances, taken with due diligence exercise. In this case,as pointed out by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, the selection couldn't be said to be the very best under the circumstances.
There is no dearth of brilliant persons with sterling track record to be considered for selection/appointment as CVC.
Feudal mentality and Imperealistic ways still persist in governance in its various ways of functioning And its this destructive/damaging mechanism that is (or should be)demolished by RTI Movement.
