PM, President, CJI too should fall in ambit of Lokpal: Digvijay
Guna, MP: Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has said that not just the politicians but the judiciary too should come under the purview of the Lokpal Bill.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday evening, Singh said this implied that the Prime Minister, the President and the Chief Justice of Supreme Court should be covered by the proposed bill.
"All the constitutional posts should be covered by the Bill," Singh said.
Firing another salvo at yoga guru Baba Ramdev, Singh alleged that when Narayan Dutt Tiwari was the Uttaranchal Chief Minister, Ramdev had got land worth Rs 1,100 crore to set up a university and a food park.
After taking land from a Congress government, Ramdev had no right to say that the party was corrupt, he said.
PM, President, CJI too should fall in ambit of Lokpal: Digvijay

"If Baba Ramdev hates black money then he should not take donations, and if he does, he should pay tax," Singh said.
Referring to allotment of land to the Kushabhau Thakre Trust by BJP government (which Supreme Court set aside recently), Singh said that soon he would release a list of trusts and societies which had been allotted land by the BJP government.
Talking about Anna Hazare, Singh praised his anti-corruption movement, but said Hazare should not have lauded Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi.
"Modi is a Chief Minister who had not appointed Lokayukta in his State for the last eight years," Singh said.
To a question, he said he supported the proposal of giving a Bharat Ratna to batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

Dear All,
I had advocated that President, All Governors of State, Prime Minister, Chief Ministers of state and all ****nctionaries of State as defined in Art 12 of The Cons****ution of India should fall within the ambit & scope of Lok Pal. Lok Pal should be chosen by a referendum making people aware of his or her credentials. Citizens of India should have the right to remove LokPal or Maladministration Corruption, etc.  Otherwise LokPAl will be Just as Karnataka Lokayukta  Justice K.S. Hegde. Do what I say but, don't do what I do.

I endorse what Digvijay Singh has said. Isolate this statement from any allegations against Digvijay Singh if anyone has. Let him be arraigned & if proven guilty be punished. An offender is an offender for the offences one has committed not for his entire personality.

Anna Hazare's effort has once again proved one thing that common man and below( except for a sprinkling of celebrities)  are together in an eventuality and that is the strength of the contry and also the politicians' radar for winning the vote! This roughly constitute 80% of the population which include 1/3rd of the world's poor in India!

As far as Lok pal is concerned, as my understanding goes, it perhaps instill a certain amount of fear about the possible punishment at a quicker pace! This, no doubt, can retard the crime (corruption) in the lower strata of our population, who of course have been at the receiving end then, now and going to be!  We have had corrupt people who were (are?) heading institutions which were supposed to dispense justice! Making of Lokpal and passing the bills do not, however, guarantee that corruption will not infect the institutions or the personnel therein!

There is a movement gathering momentum at present, as we all know, to bring back money stashed in Swiss banks! But before we clean up the country of corruption and the manipulators the money so brought, if at all, will sublime into nothingness, as if adding a few truck loads  of salt in to the ocean!! The wrong doers by now must have researched and  found out ways and means to siphon out these monies! as soon as they are released!

I am not very optimistic about Lokpal bill and the consequences but if  accountability is fixed with every public servant in a time frame of 3 days, in any case not more than a week, along with the new bill , may be this would instill  certain amount of responsibilities!

Today if you visit govt. office it is most likely, even for things which are just handy, to ask you to come after 2 days, week, 15 days, 3 months and so on and if one has to struggle to make both ends meet a repeat visit is remote as in the first visit itself you are drained of your energy and enthusiasm by the very attitude of the govt.servant! If a common man insists chasing this mirage, he is bound to loose his means of lively hood!

Assuming that the Lokpal bill is going to be implemented soon the " professional wrong doers" must already be designing ways and means to deal with Lok pal - which at the moment is projected as a "Chakravyuh"! Let us keep knocking, a door will open!!
