[HumJanenge] CORRUPT COMPANY IS OUT IN HIS GAME

CORRUPT COMPANY IS OUT IN HIS GAME

M K Gupta, volunteer against corruption and free lancer

This is the confrontation between two 'Cs', the 'Civil Society' and the 'Corrupt Company'. After loosing the first round to Anna, the corrupt company is now out to defame the leading warriors of civil society.  We should be wary of such tactics as we are against the corruption and not supporting or opposing any individual.  Prashant Bhushan has rightly said that he will file a contempt petition in the Supreme Court and this is one way to know the truth.  Though, he has got the CD checked by two labs, one in USA and other in Hyderabad, yet the Govt. should immediately send the CD for checking to an independent and credible lab. Prashant has apprehended that Amar Singh might be behind this handiwork.  The tone and tenor of Digvijay Singh's speeches also suggests that he has more grievances against the persons fighting corruption than the menace of corruption itself.  He has not been so outspoken against corruption in CWG, 2G and other cases as he is against the leading players fighting corruption.  Prashant has also alleged that this is an attempt to derail the 2G Spectrum and Amar's CD case.

From the development, it seems that the fight against corruption is not going to be an easy one. The two widely read newspapers claiming that the CD is genuine should have disclosed the names of the Labs and provide the copy of the reports from where the CD was checked. The labs should have been more discreet in checking and apart from the checking the voice samples, they should have gone to the issue of tempering or doctoring the CD.  It is necessary that the fighters against corruption should be of clean image but their reputation should not be tarnished by fabricated charges to weaken the movement.

Let us pray that an appropriate Lokpal Bill is passed by the Parliament before the Independence Day so that we can get independence from corruption too.
