We agree that such moral delinquency in the armed forces is no less than treason . The two ex COAS in land scam cases reflects the debility in Indian society where money and self prosperity has become the driving force for existence warping basic values. Irony it is Indian Generals now shaming the profession of arms what could be worse and better for others to laugh at. Such people do not qualify to run a nation who have no trace of honour , loyalty, pride without which human species is no better than earthworms . The least that was expected was for the government to anull pensions of these Generals pending further action .The malady is reflective of deep burrows in Indian character or what is left of it paradoxically with back drop of surge and climactic rise in religious facade in self deception in the majority ie Hindu component which should have been setting the standards with so many moral healers living God men at their disposal . Indians are endemically corrupt since we attended more to surving long history of slavery under a handful who ruled and remain so even today for which we never fought ! Its fiction and hog wash to be pinning hope in Lok Pal when the whole edifice of character has collapsed. He will end up as being different from all the Pals we have in the seemingly quite elaborate system of checks and balances still in place devised by the colonial masters for his brown slaves and perpetuated by his lackeys . The whole edifice whould have been demolished in 47 along with its operators who still occupy their seats in various garbs.
One can keep debating another skill which kills time !

Dear Sir,
These people should be treated like traitors only. Mere 'indiscipline' is not correct description of this criminal act, don't you agree sir? I was thinkling junior officers like Majors were mot involved in such rackets. But this Captain has shown his capacity, isn't it?

Hello Col Kurup,GCM is the right choice. You were lucky to get a sword atleast.I believe people with links, could manage more than one, and of their choice. Some one commented on 2 Lt Gens, well, one is about to face music in SUKNA case, he is the same chap, who was IMTRAT Head, when this practice started of getting stuff from Bhutan and disposing off in Rajasthan.Incidently, where were you in B'desh? I was on Dinajpur- Rangpur - Bogra sector.

These officers definitely deserve punishment. One will be surprised if
a probe is done how most of them could get these weapons allotted in
their names. While serving at Delhi 35 years back I knew a case of an
officer getting more than one pistol allotted. Generally Officers with
no approach to W&E Directorate cannot ever dream of getting a weapon
In case they get it will be those weapons one won't be able to possess
after retirement which of course will not have any market demand. I
was part of the Forces that captured huge amount of weapons from
Bengladesh during 1971 War. Despite best of repeated efforts even I
could not get a weapon. When pested them with facts and figures, all I
could get was a Sword on payment which i still possess.
