Hello Col Kurup,
GCM is the right choice.
You were lucky to get a sword atleast.
I believe people with links, could manage more than one, and of their choice.
Some one commented on 2 Lt Gens, well, one is about to face music in SUKNA case, he is the same chap, who was IMTRAT Head, when this practice started of getting stuff from Bhutan and disposing off in Rajasthan.
Incidently, where were you in B'desh? I was on Dinajpur- Rangpur - Bogra sector.

These officers definitely deserve punishment. One will be surprised if
a probe is done how most of them could get these weapons allotted in
their names. While serving at Delhi 35 years back I knew a case of an
officer getting more than one pistol allotted. Generally Officers with
no approach to W&E Directorate cannot ever dream of getting a weapon
In case they get it will be those weapons one won't be able to possess
after retirement which of course will not have any market demand. I
was part of the Forces that captured huge amount of weapons from
Bengladesh during 1971 War. Despite best of repeated efforts even I
could not get a weapon. When pested them with facts and figures, all I
could get was a Sword on payment which i still possess.
