[HumJanenge] Dear Moderators, please don't force feed us

I think that I can safely speak for the vast majority of members of HumJanenge when I say that we are fed up with the mountains of NEWS-SPAM (ie recycled newspaper articles) and other mails which are being force fed by both the HJ groups to us.

As someone who possesses the entire archive of HJ emails since 2004, I can say without fear of contradiction that HJ has now reached its nadir and is scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to serious discussion on RTI. And which is a great pity. It is also very tragic when posts from BOTH HJ groups go straight into the SPAM folder of Yahoo.

It is not to late to save the situation. Here are my suggestions.

1) Active moderation of the group.
2) People who post irresponsibly should be booted off mercilessly
3) Dont allow anyone (moderators included) to post more than 3 times daily.
4) Ensure that post from the group do not exceed 12 posts per day.
5) Ban cross-posting between groups.. Take the case of the thread
on Arundhati Roy. It started off from [rti_india] then exploded on
[HumJanenge] and whimpered out on [rti4empowerment].
6) Kick out cross posters.
7) Freeze posts from this group for 1 week.
8) Decide the policy on "News Spam".

This should sort out 50% of the problem. Act now.
