Dear Sucheta
The changing demographics of Delhi and the clansmen of the offenders
would have caused another "Meham" in Delhi. All those young students
would have been exposed to professional agitators bent on shutting the
city down in flames, and set "old" Delhi clans dispossesed of their lands
versus the same "aliens" you have in Mumbai who work at half price.
The Maruti incidents are also fresh. The CWG-2010 games brought a
whole influx of construction labour into Delhi which has not left. The Delhi
Police is also bitterly divided among these regional lines. It seems
Delhi belongs to everyone and to no-one (except u know who).
Its not 2011 anymore when all these groups came together for Anna's
first fasts. All bets are off now in view of the crucial 2013 polls in Delhi
(semi-finals).
