RE: [IAC#RG] PRESS RELEASE. Death of Delhi's innocent gangrape victim.

Colonel Kulbir Singh has a point.  I agree with it -----  except that the 'angrezi' used is 'fauji'. We need to ponder upon the points raised. We have elected the politicians that sit in Parliament today and yesterday and those that we will elect in the future. Unless each one of us in civvy street and in the armed forces can - hand over heart - say that we are above reproach can we or should we pass judgement on our representatives in Parliament.

Remember there is no country on this planet so heavily populated and so diverse in every human dimension than our India. We have been a democracy for just 65 years. It has taken 300 years and more for countries like the UK and the USA to evolve into so-called 'mature' democracies. Even they, as is evident in the USA today, have an opposition similar to ours - stifling every reform suggested by the Government in power -  just to make a point to gain attention and somehow come back to power.  (Please note - I am not making a point for the Government in power today). That is what democracy is all about. We can, of course, go back to medieval times - cut off immediately the hands of thieves and the equivalent  part for rapist or hang them all from the nearest tree. But - do we want this ??? 

Don't forget that you and I in uniform have much to crow about. Our India is the only country in the sub-continent that has not fallen to military dictatorship. The only armed force that has only one four star General for a standing Army as large as ours. The only country with such mind-boggling diversity and such stratification in society as a whole, to stay the course as a democracy however full of holes it is.

There is a judicial committee that is now looking into the matter of rapes. They are open to receiving all points of view. They will ponder the matter and prepare a report. Any discussion in Parliament today is not going to be productive --- neither you nor I  can disagree. Remember - even hurry takes time. This Honey Singh(?) crooner, has been singing songs all over the country titled, after translation, "I am a Rapist". The audience both men and women have been lapping it up and clapping and paying handsomely to hear him!

Our armed forces have today set the example for the whole country. All service New Year Eve functions all over India were cancelled at the last minute despite the money and effort spent in preparation. 

Please - let us not lower ourselves to such mean depth as to even suggest a boycott of Republic Day.

Government should do this and do that. Absolute nonsense. What are you as masses doing to stop all the nonsense going around you? You talk about bringing discipline amongst the stray humans!!? Well, they are all someones brothers and sons. Tell me if I am wrong? They all couldn't be bastards.
You talk about eliminating corruption!!? Who are corrupt? You, me and our community of humans!!? Anna this and Anna That!!!? Nonsense. Lokpal pao ya jao? Utter silly argument. Can each one of take a pledge that no one in our family will indulge in corrupt practices? NO and a BIG NO. We haven't the guts to take this kind of a pledge. Can we swear that none of our family members will indulge in humiliating women who are the PRIDE of Mankind? Again a BIG NO. We are nothing but a bunch of spunk less eunuchs debating on which brand of contraceptive we could use.
The Opposition does not allow the Parliament to do its business and we just watch and laugh. Why don't you all walk into the well of the house and thrash the bastards whom you have voted into power for disrupting the proceedings?
So, just sit down and stop masturbating.

Be pragmatic and show some true mettle in you or else keep the discussion to your drawing rooms.
