Subject: [rti4empowerment] Federation of Citizens & Civil Society Organisations of Karnatak
So Comrades, How many are willing to come together to form a 'Federation of Citizens & Civil Society Organisations of Karnatak' or a like name...? to work UNITEDLY for RTI, against Corruption, to bring awareness and for all matters/issues of concern to the citizens. Admittedly, we all have to bury Petty Differences if we aspire to fight organised evil forces represented by immoral politicians, corrupt bureaucrats, greedy corporates and conniving citizens. Looking fwd. to your consent and action to form this Front. Write to me at spnargund AT yahoo.com if this sounds good or if you have suggestions/inputs to improve this proposal. Jai Hind! Santosh P. Dear Sir, you r right in your opinion that it is the time for introspection for all the RTI Activists of our state. Today's protest is not only on the composition of the Commission from Administration i.e. IAS and KAS but more on the manner of selection. we need to focus on the transparent procedure of selecting the Commissioners to the SIC so that right people of eminence are selected to the post whether it is from the Administration or other field as mentioned in the Act. Hence, there is a plan to demonstrate and also to represent the Hon'ble Governor in writing about this issue. We need cooperation from enlightened people like you in this direction and hence we request you to join our protest and also in future course of action. Regards. umapathi.s 9480017995. Time for great introspection. The protest for not having ICs with IAS background will not have much weight as almost 50% of the total strength after the new commissioners are appointed will be with non-IAS background. Never the less it must be done... It is also pathetic that 2 ICs are going to be those whose name we've never heard in RTI circles! Overall, this is a huge setback for RTI movement and RTI users/activists as the govt. has ridiculed us and our Unity/strength, if it mattered at all. It is High time to form a formidable front of RTI/Civil Society institutions in Karnatak. It's astonishing that such a front is absent in a 'progressive' & 'hitec' state as Karnatak. Jai Hind!
