roy sir, for centuries and traditioanlly each Khap is of each village and also of dominant gotr in that village. 360 khap name is of a bigger khap of 360 villages, who may have each different dominant gotrs e.g. solanki, rana , tomer etc etc., e.g. A solanki khap comprises of all persons having solanki gotr./surname irrespective where they live. Every village of same gotr comprises one khap whether the villages are adjacent or at distance. We can find Barah khap(12 villages) 84 churasi khap etc. Even a beniwal living in delhi and other in mumbai is considered brother sister l of and hence ,brother sister can not marry. Then comes Surv khap which comprises different khaps of various, either gotr khaps and/or village khaps. Same principle does not apply in a city simply because all have come from different places/villages and can get married to a padosi boy/girl as long as they are of different gotrs. This principle unfortunately is being imposed on villages to break up the unity of the villages which fortunately could not be broken by the invaders/moguls and britishers. One village is considered One family and the boy and girl living there brother and sister, therefore can not marry even if of different Castes/Gotrs.. rgds. beniwal
