Re: [IAC#RG] caring for girls and women

Dear Sangeeta

Laws are not really made inside Parliament. They are actually made outside Parliament, proposed and drafted by vested interests in the corridors of the concerned Ministry/Department and lubricated by timely administration of grease whenever some friction arises.

As responsible and alert citizens, it is our job to constantly be that "insurmountable" friction. A single motivated  individual outside Parliament is equal to 5 average rubber stamp MPs inside Parliament.l

By the time the draft Bill reaches Parliament in most cases MPs act like  dutiful Party rubber stamps and Bills are passed by voice vote in seconds.See Lok Sabha TV for 1 day and see how it goes.

How many examples are there of important private members bills passing ? Is it worthwhile?

Today, the public,  and at least most members of this IAC (ie. IAC after AAP has left) is convinced that LokPal Bill or Jan Lokpal Bill are merely devices (like the RTI Act) to allow corrupt political parties to continue to loot the nation. The corollary to this is that the Aam Aadmi lot proposing the Lokpal Bills were uniformly and without exception stooges of the Govt.  many of whom lusted for power and pelf.

Hence, IAC chose  to reject the political option to stand for elctions.

Dear Mr Sarbajit,

You are so very correct that well intentioned people in India go around like headless chickens ,but unfortunately /fortunately the laws are made inside the Parliament and the only way to reach there is through elections.

Thank you.
