I appreciate your response. For me the term 'hindutva' represents the politico-militant side of hinduism. A picture of trishul waving men wearing saffron coloured headbands comes to mind. That certainly does not represent hinduism which is a way of life rather than a religion. The term 'pseudo-secular' has been coined by the right. You are either secular or you are not. There will certainly be people in the Congress also who are non-secular. I feel that the connotation of 'secular' is quite different from 'hindutva'. For instance, the army was secular till about a decade ago. For the first time an ex-service organisation has recently asked its members to vote for the BJP. This is a dangerous trend. I may vote for the BJP on my own but to be told to do so by an organisationheaded by several senior and eminent officers indicates that something is wrong. I would also think that a truly secular person would be liberal, tolerant and open. Col Nair

Dear Col Nair
Although you apparently disagree with me, I fully agree with you.
1) There is nothing wrong with secularism. In fact everything is right
with secularism.
2) I agree that we (ie. "India" ie. "Bharat") have diverse communities
and religions. This is our strength.
3) I agree we should be part of OIC. We have more Muslims than 90% of
their membership.
4) I agree that we should peeve the Pakis.
The problem is not "secularism" but "pseudo-secularism" as practised
by Nehru-Gandhi devil worshipping clan, and which has been imposed on
India by their Grand Masters.
Similarly there is nothing wrong with "Hindutva". It simply refers to
the all encompassing tolerance Hindus (ie. Indians) have for all
religions. As specifically stated by Raj Narain Bose in that 1882
article I emailed at point VIII on page #2, "Hinduism is pre-
eminently tolerant to all other religions and believes that each man
will attain salvation if he follows his own religion". This is what
Hindutva is all about and I dont see why anyone is confused between
Hindutva and secularism.
