Re: [IAC++] Who should bear the operating cost of Lokayuktas of the States?

        Hello friends
LokAyukta should not be a mere post-retirement assignment for retired judges who are experts in dealing with political class responsible for appointments. Their hearing ability, seeing capacity, normal working of mental faculties, ability for reading and intelligent assesment are all the criterion for getting selected to the post. Nowadays it seems to be a favor shown to judicial retirees at the hands of political bosses. The best example is the LokAyukta in Kerala.
Also the tendency of officials especially of IAS & IPS categories who manage to conduct cases utilising the services of Govt. pleaders to conduct cases for and onbehalf of them even though the petitioner has no complaint against the government but the complaint pertains to maladministration , misuse of authority and like issues confing the individual in authority. This sort of behavior from the part of LokAyukta is against the spirit of the very institution itself. Such LokAuktas will not serve any purpose at all. Hence the institution of LokAyukta should not be rubber stamp of the government concerned but should be an effective instrument to fight against corruption and maladministration. Rather it should not be another machinery to siphon off public money. Thanks and congratulations for the efforts by social activists in getting clean and healthy governance in the society.

Dear All,

We are well aware of the high level political corruptions irrespective of the Political Parties at the helms of affair. They have indulged in open public loot and become rich.

To probe the high level political corruptions, some States have Lokayukta Act and posted Lokayuktas also.

The question is who should bear the operating cost of these Lokayuktas?

We the People - the Victims of Political / Bureaucratic Corruption - be made to bear the cost of operating these Lokayuktas &, in the event of Lokpal become reality, operating Lokpal?

Or, the cost of operating the Lokayuktas &, under enactment Lokpal, be recovered from the corrupt people who siphoned off the public money by confiscating their ill-gotten money & property?
