As you know that Dr Sen has been convicted by a judicial forum for sedition and other activities akin to aiding those waging war on the State.
Kindly do not circulate anti-national or seditious material etc. using this group's facilities. We permit the circulation of attachments as a facility for our members, any abuse of this facility would lead to its withdrawal
We are also monitoring carefully this debate. Insofar as this particular discussion / thread is concerned ALL GROUP REGULATIONS APPLY WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT (especially "cross-posting" / personal publicity, NGO publicity etc.) and not from 1st Jan 2011. Consider this to be a test / practice run.
Notwithstanding the above, we encourage any civilised discourse at this group that
upholds / protects / defends Human values such as is listed in India's Constitution
as long as it has some direct and evident connection with RTI or the Right to Information.

Friends,
I just sent an email where I presented where I made an attempt at presenting the basic and more important facts of the Court judgement in English in the much-discussed Dr Binayak Sen case (translating the Hindi version to the best of my abilities).
We all know that one can appreciate and comment upon the judgement only when one has gone through it in its totality.
With this background, I would request all those who are interesting in providing a feedback to me to kindly send your critical/legal/ general or intuitive responses at amitabhth@yahoo.com or amitabhthakurlko@gmail.com (other than discussing the case in this forum). Since I am attempting to write a factual/ dispassionate critique of this decision (taking all its pros and cons), hence ur comments would be extremely useful for me.
Here I present the relevant link for your kind perusal once again.
