Dear Mr Roy,
I agree about Ajit Doval, and it is a tragedy that people like him are in important positions, and get away with just a slap despite monumental lapses of judgement. Brajesh Mishra is another case in point where despite minimal qualifications they exert maximum impact.
Regarding Justice Lodha, there was grave injustice vis-a-vis Gen VK Singh, and again it is a tragedy that the past & current dispensations did not want to "disrupt the chain of succession" and resulted in foisting Gen Dalbir Singh Sehwag on the Indian Army.
That said, I believe that it is better to have betting in cricket in a legalized way than to have it illegal. And also, narcotics are better if they are in the open and controlled, than in the shadows and uncontrolled. Look at the liquor shops, and though they are a menace in the current form - making them illegal will worsen the situation. Anecdotal stories posit that the maximum liquor is imported into the great "dry" state of Gujarat.
Warm regards,
Sanjay

Dear Sanjay
Justice Lodha's report speaks for itself. It whitewashes the actual
controversies and rot in the Indian cricket, lets the culprits scoot
off scotfree and its prescriptions are the usual eyewash designed to
get temporary publicity to deceive the public (now with very short
memories due to "breaking news" Twitter/Facebook culture) that
"somebody" is taking care of the problem.
Like ODD-EVEN-SCHEME, Lodha's proposal to legalise cricket betting is
a knee-jerk reaction / simplistic "solution" to deep systemic problems
which have accumulated over time. Tough decisions are being avoided in
favour of symbolic tokenisms.
Mr.Ajit Doval's presence in government, is only a symbol of the deep
corruption and family based lobbying for rampant crony capitalism
which runs throughout Mr. Narendra Modi's Govt. and actually powers
it with their Saturday clubs and Wednesday salons etc. which is
causing heartburn in rank-and-file of their cadres. Ranjan
Bhattacharya etc. may have gone but Shaurya Doval etc.have replace
them in NDA-II (BJP-I).
