Dear Rajendran
On the contrary, there is considerable doubt on the efficacy of Covishield, at the bottom end of the scale it has an efficacy of 53.6% against the original strain of the first wave which was just sufficient to get it over the threshold of 50%.
Unlike you, I don't believe newspapers, except perhaps The Hindu in a limited way, but can read the scientific and medical journal researches directly. From these it is self evident that the trials in UK, Brazil and South Africa were manipulated by Astra Zeneca excluding many categories, especially the senior citizens and those with (co)morbidities as may easily be seen from the UK MHRA emergency use authorisation of 29 Dec 2020, and the associated documents for UK health professionals which run into tens of pages. Like those well trained unquestioning Pavlovian responding Army dogs who lost us the 1962 war you evidently never bothered to read these before blindly trusting the Government and lining up for your (worthless) jab.

The solid proof I (ie. HRA) have is a letter dated within the past week from the Drugs Controller of India in response to an RTI, which clearly and unambiguously states the following
A) Serum Institute of India Pune does not have any permission for selling or marketing the COVISHIELD vaccine in India
B) Serum Institute of India Pune does not have any emergency use authorisation for administering the COVISHIELD vaccine in India
C) Serum Institute of India Pune appllcation to distribute COVISHIELDin India was turned down. Neither does it have the mandatory marketing approval prescribed in Indian law.
D) Serum Institute of India Pune did not conduct the mandatory trials for items A to C above specified under the Indian Drug Trials Rules 2019.
The reply confirms that what Serum Institute of India does have, is a "manufacture for sale " approval issued by the Driugs Controller of India on 03-Jan-2021 to manufacture and EXPORT to the UK for emergency use over there the COVISHIELD/AstraZeneca vaccine. This approval was based solely on the UK MHRA approval of 29.Dec.2020 and was strictly for export of the vaccine to AstraZeneca/Oxford..
It is also trite to say, my dear friend, that there is no provision for "emergency use authorisation" for vaccines under Indian law.
Not only USA, but yesterday Canada has also rejected Covishield.
Because I am on a limited data plan in Germany will reply to your other points late about Mr Bill Gates etc. You don't seem to have caught the point, Bill Gates is the mastermind behind the VIRUS so I certainly don't expect anything free from him.

Dear Dalvi,There appears to be no base for your complaint. As per all the Specialists reports I had seen in Newspapers, no one ever doubted the efficacy of Covishield. Everyone says it is safe. If the USA does nor use it, it does not mean it is not effective. Did the US give any reason for the rejection? If so, kindly publish it in your article. In Chennai where I live, all Govt hospitals have given us Covishield. This includes my family and I. As far as I know there is no adverse comment from any beneficiary. We are all safe for the past two months or so - after the second dose. Complaining without adequate research is downright silly. If you have solid proof of its adverse effects or inefficiency in offering protection, please put it in your letter. Otherwise just Shut up. People in power are doing their best to procure adequate vaccines for this huge big Indian population. Let them do it. People are dying everywhere and everyday. Your comments and baseless mails will only make the matter worse. Finally, what is this nonsense about Bill Gates? Do you expect him to vaccinate the world population free of cost?Regards
