Rape in Delhi – Why is no person in government paying the price?
Even after so many days of the recent gang rape in Delhi that has led to massive disgust and protest in the country, neither Lt. Governor nor the Chief Minister of Delhi has come forward to own the responsibility and submit the resignation.
Sheila Dixit says she is ashamed, she doesn't have the courage to face the victim and is seen shedding tears on the TV screen but is it enough ? Obviously, the rowdies have become bold because of the collapse of the law and order machinery. Who is responsible for the situation?
There was a time when Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned when a railway accident took place in distant Ariyalur in Tamil nadu owning moral responsibility. Compared to the gesture of this great man, one can see the fall in standards today.
I urge both the Lt.Governor, an appointed person and Sheila Dixit, an elected person to quit immediately, that would restore confidence that public opinion do matter in this country.
