Re: [IAC#RG] RTI reply - Govt does not know the authentic words of National Anthem.

Dear IAC-ians

Further to my RTI to MHA about authentic words (text), music (musical score etc) and authorship of National Anthem, the CPIO of Ministry of I&B (MHA transferred my request for the musical score to them) has also confirmed to me that they do not have any authentic music score of our National Anthem (Jana Gana Mana) and don't know who the composer is.

So no authentic words and no authentic music score for Jana Gana Mana means "Saare jahan se achha, Hindustan hamara... ".

Dear IAC-ians

I have received a most amazing RTI reply from the dealing CPIO of Ministry of Home Affairs.

1) It seems Govt of India is totally unaware of the authentic words of National Anthem and is unable to provide me a copy of it.

2) It seems that MHA also doesn't have a copy of the authentic musical score of the National Anthem, which incidentally all the band masters of MHA police forces regularly play, is thereby unable to provide me a true copy of the musical score, and has forwarded my RTI on this point to Ministry of I&B (it seems Doordarshan used to play the instrumental version of National Anthem before shutting down at midnight).

3)  MHA also doesn't know why National Anthem has been recently ordered to be compulsorily played in cinema theatres and if so then why Vande Mataram (National Song) is not as equally honoured as National Anthem by being played there also.

Is this country being governed by Indians or by the CIA ?
