The copter may be old and require replecement. But normally it is the bureacrats who decide this type of deal.
Mr.Modi who was one of high risk and target of LET was comfortable with the old helicopter and never try to buy a jet. But the new CM will buy this jet and soon will realise that her need is more of the helicopter. Then a fresh case will be made for helicopter. Now they will try to say this jet is being brought insttead of a helicopter.That is how the bureacrats and agents of jets play their game.

However I feel Modi along with all MPS and MLAs should also voluntarily give up their perks and pay to the extent that the common man is now asked to face the problem of defecits and so on. By voluntarily giving up their pay and perks by say 20 percent of what they are now getting will convey the message that our elected reps do care about the horrible economic situation in the country .They may argue that what is saved by such gestures will not make any difference to the present state as the amount involved will be truly negligible!! But the fact that they are prepared to share the difficulties will make the Common Man Happy. Let our MPs and MLAs spend less by reducing the use of cars and air travel and so on . If however certain parties like Congress oppose such a proposal , the ruling party should set an example by voluntarily giving up say 20 to 40 % of what they are now entitled . The result will be dramatic and BJP need not exert too much to win the assembly elections. I know certain CMs do not draw their salaries . And I remember Rajaji fixing his own pay as Rs 500 per month when he was CM of Madras in late 40s . And when he retired he just quietly moved to his modest house in T Nagar !!! Lal Bahudir Shastri also set an example.I would like this message to reach Modi and will someone help me to put this suggestion on all Social media like Face book Twitter and so on. Some political parties are agitating against these increases hoping to win elections .
