Re: [IAC#RG] Fwd: BJP cannot afford to be complacent now

Dr Kumar Arun Ji. When one party decided to support the other party, they come to agree on a common minimum programme. You can not support another party just for the sake of supporting it. Moreover, the AAP dos not want any dilution of its own programme and wants to go it alone or nothing. As it anticipates better thing happening to it, it will insist on a re-election. The BJP dos not have the numbers so it is stuck. Devinder

Shri Malhotraji,

Well said! I fully support your views and wish the decision makers within BJP as well as AAP see through and understand the need of the time.

If I have my say, I would suggest that BJP should support AAP from outside & let AAP run the state. I am saying this because, though in good faith & with sincere intentions, AAP has made very tall promises. I am not too sure if all those targets set by them can be met.
Hence, let them meet the promised targets rather than BJP running the state Govt. , fail & get the bad name.
Food for thought.

What is the problem in allowing Kejriwal forming the very first government of 'Aam Aadmi'? If I were advisor to Modi, I would advice him to ask Dr. Harsh Vardhan to support AAP to form government in Delhi and be part of ruling team to change the fifteen year old corrupt network of Shiela DIxit & Sonia Gandhi. Is any thing wrong in it?

Very well put.BJP will have to deliver exponentially more than promised to meet the expectations. Also they should safeguard from the crooked ways of congress.

No party in India in the very first year of its formation has got such a huge mandate from the people of Delhi. Expectations are very high which can not be met by sitting in opposition. It is therefore must that they come  in the mainstream and check BJP from their wrongdoings by working along with them for the people.

While many supporters of BJP are jubilant with State Elections results, let us sincerely hope that BJP would not be complacent under any circumstances.    In fact, as one close supporter mentioned to me they should work three times as hard.   He added, 'Are you kidding, never write off congress party'.  How true?  I only hope BJP cadre takes this to heart and work longer and harder.

Should we be jubilant about the results and the real hope for change?   My question is why was the country put in this place first.   If the country had the same growth that BJP left it with in 2004, we would perhaps be running on par and even be ahead of China.   I recall how everything was booming, middle class growing, many NRIs were looking to settle back in India, the shining India.   Today, more people are being reduced to beggars, to depend on few kilos of rice and pulses the Government doles out for their livelihood.    BJP leaders are reduced to kow-tow to the Congress party or else?     No where in the world's history we can see an uneducated  foreign nanny trample on the lives of the country and blatantly loot and let loot a nation with complete impunity, in what is being called the most corrupt period in entire India's history.     It is a matter of shame, a shame that can be squarely blamed on BJP leaders, who are not only complacent but also arrogant,  lacking foresight of what is brewing right under the nose.    India could have been spared this agony if only BJP had vision and the mindset on how to handle the enemy.

The game is not over. As 2014 central elections come closer, I sincerely hope BJP fall in line with Narendra Modi and reign in their ambitions.  Just as in US, once a leader of party is chosen everyone puts their heart and soul to get their leader elected, BJP should ensure Modi gets the mandate required to make the changes to improve the country.

It is foolish to think that Congress is sitting idle.   According to Dr. Swamy tweet Sonia/Rahul has allocated 5000 crore rupees to manipulate EVMs.     They will be making bizarre promises to vote banks to bring them to voting booth.    They will engage the unscrupulous elements to commit as much voting fraud as possible such as bogus voters and intimidate those who would vote for BJP.   Why do you think Government has not funded VVPAT until now and now ECI is making claims that VVPAT has issues after having made success in real elections?   Many are afraid that Chief CEC Sampath who has declared large personal assets will be subjugated by Congress party if he does not cooperate in various schemes.  Cooperation many times means non-action.

Most people do not realize the power in India can be tilted by manipulating just few (30 to 40 constituencies) as was done in 2009 and that too in just 5% of the voting booths in those constituencies.    One more point that is not usually grasped is a seat manipulated is a double whammy, your loss is other party gain.   For example, by manipulating 40 out of 543,  a winning -200 and losing-150 combination will turn into losing- 160 and winning-190.   That is the danger that should not escape BJP.   It is critical to have a very effective booth management and constant vigil.  It is critical that BJP and other parties put their weight over  ECI to either go with VVPAT or paper trail.

Let us be vigilant.
