Re: [IAC#RG] Open letters (2) to Gen V.K. Singh

Dear All,
As a principle, no member of IAC should use the forum to cavass the interest of any class. Please remember Gandhiji's last man. Any concession to anybody is at the cost of the poorest and the hungriest. Even the current formula of pay/pension based DearnessAllowance is most unfair to the pooer sections of unorganized sector. DA should be based on minimum need for survival.

Dear Mr Sarabjit Roy,
Winnability is not the only criteria whilst contesting for
elections.The guy must
not have a record of dishonesty, criminality.Martin Luther King
said"The ultimate
tragedy is not the brutality of bad people but the silence of the good
people".The
racial discrimination in USA was overcome with long struggle starting
from Lincoln,
now you have a black President.
If the elected leaders of India does not curb corruption, criminals in
Politics this
nation is doomed. As per ADR 33% of our legislators have criminal background, the
will of the remainder 67% must prevail. We Indians have a crab mentality, very
adept at running others down. The attachment on FM Cariappa is
illumanitive, soldiers do not compromise on honesty, integrity,
welfare of troops and prepared
to die for the nation. I consider the Indian armed forces the peoples'
armed forces
as it is a voluntary force. Unfortunately the politicians, bureaucrats
treat us with
suspicion do not give the due as the defenders of the nation. The Govt of the day
should have perspective on strategy, tactics for national security
both external,and
internal.Corruption in defence procurements saps the armed forces of
vital preparedness. It is routine for the service chiefs to point out
to PM,RM the shortfalls
in their respective service, Pmo's office leaked out such a
correspondence between
the PM and COAS, it amounts to high treason. I personally held 100 Top Secret
Files, had I BEEN DISHONEST THE NATION'S SECURITY WOULD HAVE BEEN
COMPROMISED.
When I visited my niece in Mumbai , travelling to Pune on the
expressway the toll tax was waived on showing my exservices I card.
Wonder why other states do not
standarddise.Because of the apathy towards the armed forces more and more
younger generation do not join the armed forces resulting in huge
shortage of officers.
The nation that does not respect its armed forces will always be in
peril. Indian history bears testimony to the fact that we Indians have
been subjugated by foreigners for centuries. We have to rid of ji
hazoori, slavish mentality from our
psyche.
Even today my icons are Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chatterjee, Subhash Bose'
who gave the nation JANA GANA MANA, JAI HIND, VANDEMATARAM. Raja
Rammohan Roy , Vidyasagar, who reformed our archaical society. MAHATMA
GANDHI gave us Satyagraha, the struggle to oppose evils with truth and
collective
effort.
People like you must lead the transformation process not like politicians with
divide and rule vote bank politics, and denigrating other Indians.God
has given us
enough intellect to distinguish right from wrong.I am now 73 years
old, distressed
for the poverty stricken, helpless common people, personal happiness cannot
come if we do not follow Swami Vivekanadas precepts of HE MURKHA, HE
CHANDAL BHARATBASI AMAR BHAI.
Rabi Thakur said"Where the mind is without fear,And the head is held
high,In that
heaven of freedom let my country awake"
Pardon my rambling, it is a trait with Bengalis.
JAI HIND, VANDE MATARAM SATYAMEV JAYATE, PEOPLE FIRST MISSION ALWAYS
GOD BLESS
Gautam Guha
