Re: [IAC#RG] GOA - A DRUG, SEX, GAMBLING & CRIME HUB

Mr Rodrigues
A political system which is captive of money power nourishes  on capitalism . Sex drugs and similar crime are prime progeny of capitalist society in pursuit of churning money . Values smashed render such hedonist society  flaccid and porous  easily penetrable  . Best nursery for politicians to groom their musclemen and goons not only to amass ill gotten gains for funding elections but as agents to intimidate people and spread fear. This  breed cannot flourish without shelter of the State . A State which turns a blind eye to anarchy and moral destitution in its subjects becomes a threat to itself and to its people. We are in such a State . How do you think that Pak managed to penetrate terrorists right in heart of our airbase in Pathankot and still to this day none have paid for this treachery and treason , no one is held accountable to this day, if not because drugs and money from it have silenced the State and no different in Goa! If Hindu Godmen can be running sex dens and extortion rackets under protection of State and this can mean business as usual then sit back and wait for worst.
May new year bring better tidings
Thank you

The drug menace across Goa is a matter of very grave concern and should have received the Government's top most priority attention and action. Unlike a few years ago, the narcotics trade today is no longer restricted to the coastal belt. They are being openly sold and merrily consumed in every nook and corner of the State with even all of the hinterland infested. They are freely available at the markets, bus terminals and even at the entrances of some many educational institutions.

Due to lack of coercive and corrective measures by successive governments we have reached a point of crisis where even the law enforcement officials are now helpless. Instead of combating the source of drugs, all that we have been hearing is empty rhetoric on eradicating drugs while the ground reality is that the hazard is only spreading further across the State.

With ruling politicians lending patronage to the drug trade, Goa today has been officially reduced to a narcotic, sex, gambling and crime haven. A very unsafe destination and a very sorry state of affairs.

Posterity will never forgive the current bunch of ruling politicians for their selfish role in the irreparable damage and destruction of what was once known as beautiful Goa, the Paradise of the East.

Re: [IAC#RG] Railway reservations

Updating an old IAC discussion

Big catch! CBI arrests its own software programmer for developing illicit software to subvert railways Tatkal reservation system

By: | New Delhi | Updated: December 27, 2017 8:18 PM

"Garg, who joined CBI in 2012, exploited the vulnerabilities to develop the illegal software, which allowed agents to book hundreds of tickets in one go, leaving genuine passengers in the lurch, they said. "The vulnerabilities of the IRCTC system still exist," an official said. A postgraduate in computer applications, Garg allegedly sold the software through Gupta"

The discussion about Tatkal ticket reservation is appreciable one. My question is why Tatkal? Why cant the government impose certain restrictions on agents in booking railway tickets? It's very simple. ID card numbers - voter ID, pan card , adhaar and passport as ID - should be made compulsory in booking tickets to eliminate middlemen.
Next issue is, food served in the railway compartments are horrible. The tea and coffee are a shame. Why cant the government impose quality assurance that is imposed on other restaurants and food outlets?

1. Irrespective of who won (or lost) in Gujarat, 93% of candidates HRA supported won over there.

2. There are 2 kinds of secularism, the first kind by those who can afford by virtue of their strong Hindustani cultural heritage to treat all religions and castes equally, and the second kind conveniently practiced by Mr. Rahul Gandhi who is only secular when people ask him about his parents but always communal when asked about his maternal grandparents.

Re: [IAC#RG] IN GUJARAT BJP WON - BJP LOST

I am an insignificant voter always wanting for better quality of life. But the pollution and crowds continue to deteriorate my quality of life. Travel in trains is no pleasure. Trains are long, dirty and over crowded and usually run late; 2 hrs late is new normal.
Population Growth is an insurmountable challenge which no politician is willing to address.
Something wrong with our Constitution and adult franchise. Add to it is refugee entering the country.
BJP, Congress and  lesser regional groups must motivate me for showing the  moon. I must decide whom  to vote. Plu ca change, plu cest la mem chose, the French would say. More you change, more it is the same thing.

I am hopefully waiting for demise of 1st Republic and birth of the 2nd, to address Jats, Gujjars, Patidars et al.

Well you can interpret it either way for both parties but  certainly it is a setback for BJP and encouragng for Congress.

The qustion now must be asked- how far the PM can convass in the State elections and misuse the Govt. funds and machinery for party

propogation. The PM has certainly been overdoing it in all State Elections and making reckless allegations against all and sundry. He is neither maintaining the dignity of the post he is holding nor hiding his parochial leanings. To him the end justifies the means-fair or foul,
victory at any cost. But surely the mood of the people is changing and they have started realising- it is a mere rhetoric and sloganeering
without any ground realities.
Back in Goa, Manohar Parikar is stated that anti-india feeling is developing in Goa. Is there any substance ?

Despite all that abundant money and muscle power at hand, the BJP even after all the sheer misuse of its administrative authority was not able to woo the people of Gujarat. That they just managed to scrape through in the home State of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah which has been a saffron bastion for more than two decades is infact a real humiliation for the Prime Minister and the BJP Chief. A clear indication of the people's disgust over the skewed policies of the government. The BJP which had set a lofty target of 150 seats had to eat the humble pie and be content with just 99 with the Congress clinching a whopping 80. The BJP may have won, but not a moral victory. The verdict is indeed a psychological triumph for the Congress.

Re: [IAC#RG] IN GUJARAT BJP WON - BJP LOST

All parties involved in the election had tonnes of money .Even Hardik Patel group have money. So  we should not single out only one party.Indranil Rajguru, stated to be the wealthiest candidate in the fray, was handpicked by Congress President to defeat CM Vijay Rupani.Despite impact of GST all candidates had mobilized money.
One who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones at other.

With the anti-incumbency factor of 22 years of rule, GST and Demo effect, winning and retaining the state is a great thing specially fighting against elements (liberals, leftists, foreign funding, PFI backing etc).

With this win atleast the center would keep its focus on development rather than populist schemes to garner votes.

Re: [IAC#RG] IN GUJARAT BJP WON - BJP LOST

PM campaigning every state election is  unavoidable as  the result have impact upon the number in Rajyasabha, lack of majority in RS is limiting Government from passing key legislatures. Only thing which will be beneficial to the country is holding simultaneous state and central election. Large scale expenses can be reduced . Now without absolute majority in RS BJP can't do it . Congress will not allow it . so what is the option . in the present scenario it is difficult to bring changes

Re: [IAC#RG] IN GUJARAT BJP WON - BJP LOST

20/12/17
