Re: [IAC++] Fwd: Mandatory CASTRATION for rapists

I agree with you. But nobody is talking about the factors that contribute to such a decadence in society. Surgery can not cure the disease it can only rid you of the ailing part of the body. If the source of the ailment is somewhere else, the disease will keep recurring in other parts of the body. (the body here symbolises the society).

having said that, it must be added that the kind of public outrage we are witnessing will also go a long way in acting as a deterrent because criminals will realise that the act will not go un noticed. The vast majority of rape and sexual abuse victims who do not report the matter may after seeing such unprecedented public outrage, find the courage to report it now.

It's good to see the sleeping complacent classes of our society wake up and question the authorities of the state.

I feel that the provocative bollywood songs with famous heroines dancing in scantily clad clothes contribute to the idea of a woman being just a commodity of pleasure. Unsatisfied  aroused feelings emotions of uneducated/uncultured people find vent in such acts. There should be some restrain also on this repeated naked show which is becoming something very "normal"  for our society. Unknowingly youngsters approve of what the bollywood heroines/heroes do and try to copy the same.

these rapists should be hung by their genitals, i do not normally advocate violence, but these are just my feelings for such animals, that subjected the poor girl to such torture and show utter lack of remorse. we should also ban hindi movies that show rape in such fashion, that the goon gets away with it, and the poor girl commits suicide for fear of social ostracization

People tend to fall in line with effective societies. Only in rare cases when societies are not able to handle any situation matter needs to go to court.

Post independence first action taken by the government was to destroy societies making all individuals free entities to do what they like. We are all facing consequences of thoughtless actions of the government.

Tushar how do you think there is a cure to this problem..things are getting worse day by day. Its really sad and shameful to see that Indian capital has become rape capital. Better we should give a capital punishment to rapists, although we know people will misuse the power for sure.

I don't think think that a harsher punishment is the cure
Rather I feel somewhere its the mentality that needs to change. But then its a big question on how to identify and change ones mentality
But then yes a harsh punishment will surely act as a deterrent
