RE: [IAC++] Fwd: [IESM_Group:478] NEGLECT OF ARMED FORCES

12/12/12

Neglect of the Armay is delibrate and it started immediately after India got its indepence.
Politicians have developed a fear that Army should not be in a position to topple the Civil Authority at any time fogeting that the Army was always apolitical.Civil servants have contributed to achieve it. Evenpolice force is not immune to this. The tussle between IAS and IPS offices is an example.
In my view the serving officers and jawan should keep their focus on the job they have undertake to do, the retired officers should continue to highlight the problems faced by the Armed forces.

DearDrSarbajitRoy,
Thank you for the reply. You will have to guard the movement from getting trivialized by well meaning advise ,but, tending from bizarre to quixotic
As you are aware delay causes corruption be they ideas or actions ,can you formulate a course of action quickly ,toss it around briefly, fine tune to the extent possible and bash on regardless.

Dear Col Kishore

Let me assure you in my personal capacity that the nation
will not tolerate neglect of its armed forces.
It is the armed forces (and only the armed forces) which holds the
Indian nation together.

The IESM movement has only been playing for its own selfish
ends - ie pensions and benefits. As a result it is getting
fairly alienated from serving officers (who dont take a long term view
of these things) The IESM movement has also been well infiltrated
by political and communal elements - thereby weakening the movement.

The IESM should realise only language the Govt understands is one
of aggression and threats. One of the biggest mistakes the Army
made was participating in Operation Bluestar. It was a policing
problem - it should have been sorted out by the MHA.
