RE: [IAC#RG] The beginning of the end for AAP

This country has seen political changes within a gape of ten to fifteen years.whenever people felt about radical changes some self styled idelogue hijacked the momentum and with an intention to put their name in the history implemented rotten ideas and pet projects which are never touched with the stone of truth or reason . Because of this self styled heroes efforts. ,our development was driven in reverse gear.look at the case of v p singh that was the Period when the country was able to think beyond soviet union. Sam pitroda introduced telephone revolution. Country really moving above than caste and class. An effort to get vote bank created havoc in this country. After mandal all political parties started fighting each other to win more backward class votes.now no major political partes want to do away caste based reservation. Political parties implementing liberaral policies out of compulsion at least delhi govt has moved more forward than other states in liberal policies. Kejriwal wants to reverse the clock by subsidizing whater etc. Once he starts to do this all political parties in the country will follow him for getting votes. This country is ruind because of freebies and subsidies u cant reduce corruption by simply adopting failed ecenomic policies. Our development went in reverse gear after political change in 89,2004, and now in 2014 . Remember either modi or kejriwal they are not going to solve our problems as they both wants to see their name in future history. This kind of self proclaimed crusades failed in bringing changes in past so also in future. They are good only to them selves and not to the society we can achieve success only when we are ready to think beyond hero worships.

This forum has now become totally obsessed with AAP specially after 8/12/ when results were declared. Possibly no one expected the results-both main parties were dismissive of AAP,s performance.
Posts are mostly one liners-for or against AAP.
Corruption has taken a back seat. IAC is waiting for a new star to be born.Regds

Subject: Re: [IAC#RG] The beginning of the end for AAP

I am surprised at the way some of this educated mass is behaving. When AAP did not want form the Govt,  there was a large fraternity which ridiculed them for not accepting a challenge incl the BJP. Now that they are prepared to form the Govt after the people of Delhi have given their approval, albeit with Congress support, there is another section which is being equally critical. Is this educated mass  clear on what they really want?

I think AAP has played out a great Strategic and Tactical game. Congress was the natural enemy of both  BJP and AAP being the incumbent Govt. The common adage- "enemy's enemy is my friend"  dictum does not work here. Resultantly, AAP is adopting the next best option- form a Govt with the Congress outside support. No one is in doubt that, this is as adversarial a partnership as can be. It hopefully  only obviates the Presidential rule and a re-poll within six months. Everyone is also clear that it is an  union that may not last more than three months or even less. It will fall the moment AAP makes progress on some of it's manifesto. Congress will be  in a sticky position--they will be damned if the pull out and they will be damned if they stay.

We have experimented  with family led Congress Inc and the BJP political parties for so many decades. If the summation of India's greatest problem today,  of lifting the 35% Indians from BPL, is dismissed by the Congress led UPA's PM in waiting as  "Poverty is a only state of mind" that can be over come, then thinking Indians must start worrying.

Let us  therefore  give a try with AAP. They have promised a new  paradigm- What do we loose in trying it out? Even if they  can reduce the electricity tariff   by 30% and provide water supply to all those who do not get it today,  the relief to the Aam Admi will be immense.

AAP has shown a resolve and conviction for pursuing an ethical conduct that has gone missing from Indian political life for long. Let us wish AAP the very best in their endeavors and hope that they succeed. The future of our children and indeed the Country is dependent on it. Paraphrasing what President  JFK Kennedy said so long ago, "Let us focus, on a more practical, more attainable integrity, based not on a sudden revolution in human nature but on a gradual evolution in our  institutions."
You will agree, APP is attempting to do it.

I am totally confused as to why people are hesitant to experiment.
Did we not experiment with family led political parties for so many decades. (They joke with us with "adhi roti" "puri roti" try and gain sympathy by shedding crocodile tears - all acceptable to us)
Let us give a try with AAP. What do we loose?
Even if he can reduce the tariff on electricity by 20% and increase the water supply by 20% the relief that will percolate down to an ordinary citizen will be heartening.
It has been achieved elsewhere in the country so can it be done in Delhi.
Let us wish AAP the very best in their endeavor and prove that in India anything is possible.

AAP or any party can not fight corruption unless they engage with solid moral foundations first . APP lied to people making posters referring to 15 years of corruption as if all the public money was looted and nothing was done. I love fight against corruption but it should have been done with honest acknowledgement of the work while promising that they would do better.
