Sir, but who will make the judges understand that present  law also prohibits the marriage of brother and sister.  when marriage is prohibited by genetic and law,  then how a khap( say beniwal etc etc )a family will allow marriage of its children.  only the family knows who are brother and sisters, where ever the may be living.  most such judges do not even know the difference between caste and gotr. intercaste marriage may be allowed but not same gotr.   some modern day judges have gone further and agrees marriage of man to man and girl to girl. even animal do not do such act. are humans worse than animals ? or the judges who agree with marriage of man to man think the God as fool to make man and women. i wish good sense will prevail over such judges to save families and a human race as a whole and stop blaming Khap for every ill influenced by western culture. rgds. beniwal

The ancient sages knew that marriage between a boy and a girl belonging to the same Gotra is prohibited as it amounts to inbreeding and possbile defects in the progeny. Even today many Communities advertising in matrimonials specify the Gotra and prohibit those of same Gotra approaching for the marriage.

 

Today's Science has confirmed that Y-Chromosomes are genetically passed down paternally and people intermarrying of same Y-Chromosomes might produce defective progeny. Khap Panchayats follow the ancient diktat of the Sages followed since several millenea as blind belief and strict punishments ensures following the practice strictly.

 

Judiciary, esp. of today consist of Politically selected personnel from the bar either based on SC/ST or Religion and seldom on merits as in early days esp. British times. See how many judgements are made by CJI and CJ of High Courts which are biassed or to favour some individuals/community or for monetary benefits?

 

The 46 rapists of the Suryanelli Christian girl in Idukki in Kerala were acquitted and involvement of Rajya Sabha VC Dr.Kurien was not even considered totally out of biass to exonerate the guilty Kurien. Investigating officers and witnesses were all influenced and the Judge who exonerated and set free the 46 rapists justified his action saying that the victim was a child prostitute!! This is the standard of Judiciary of the Country today.

 

The less said about ex-CJI KBG, the better as most of hiss judgements were biassed to please the Politicians, whoi in turn were abettors to his rise to the top position.

 

The Country has lost its recognition of meritocracy in every field and when Judiciary is corrupted, this is the last possible option of the Common man for Justice, he is deprived of cruelly.

fully agree.  but please note one Khap is a family of persons having/carrying same gotr. same gotr boy and girl means brother and sister. marriage of bother and sister is not permitted in present day law.   so please do not compare the collegium with khap. this is the only country where judge appoint judge.  rgds. beniwal

that atleast work openly unlike Collegium working secretly.  It is
hightime that the Collegium is declared Arbitrary, Undemocratic,
Illegal and Unconstitutional Body - A Dark Blot on Democracy.
