dear Sir,
Responding late. System of colleguim was evovled by the supreme court and there are not agreeing to any change which the Govt. has tried under the guise of much needed judicial reforms. So the status quo continues and now it appears that there is a tacit understanding between the executive branch and judiciary that the Govt. will not interfere in judicial processes and the judiciary will not interefere in policy matters.
Regarding employment of judges after retirement, the Govt. has been using is as an inducement. The appointment of ex-CJI Balkrishnan, CJI (ex) Verma and J. Katju need to be looked at from that angle.
J. Katju has become controversial after making politicial statements against Arun Jetley,leader of oppositon inRS>. Even during his tenure he was not in favour of PILs as these amounted to oversteping into executive(read Govt.) functions .
So we come back to the same basic questions of making reforms in judiciary to eliminate corruption-whethre in appointment or its functioning or re-employment after retirement.

I agree with Sri Raizada.In absence of Collegium entrance for politicians would be wide open.It is well known that even active politicians were given chance.Once a
committed Judiciary was a call.All aspects need to be considered before criticizing
