The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Wednesday disclosed that almost 99 per cent of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes which were withdrawn from circulation on November 8, 2016 has returned to the central bank, confirming what the government's critics had been pointing out about the weak economic rationale for demonetisation. This also raises questions about the overall gains and the impact on the economy, especially the informal sector, because of the disruption it caused.

Nine months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, the RBI finally revealed in its annual report that notes worth Rs 15.28 lakh crore were deposited by people as on June 30, 2017. This indicates that notes worth only Rs 16,000 crore were not returned since the value of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in circulation was Rs 15.44 lakh crore on the day demonetisation was announced.

Leave aside the fact that Indian Court has put a ban only on 'instant Talaq' that anyways does not enjoy Koranic sanction...and that too for 6 months...

The fact is that TT is banned in most Muslim countries...if India was serious about a uniform civil code (UCC) it would have implemented it long ago...and yes with the full agreement of Maulavis and religious heads...

Keeping a personal law for Muslim is not right or wrong...it was part of the social contract between the Indian State and Muslims who preferred to stay back in India rather than go to Pakistan...

With the consent of all stakeholders, a social contract can be updated or modernised or anulled...but you cannot renege...you cannot put a gun to the head of a stakeholder and force him to sign...

Have you ever wondered why RSS and BJP are anti-TT? Do they really believe in UCC?

RSS and BJP are anti-TT not just because it is another stick with which they can browbeat Muslims...they are anti-TT because the position gives them the perfect standpoint to do what they always wanted: attack the Hindu Code Bill (HCB)!

In the 1950s, all hues of RSS opposed the Hindu Code Bill...Hindu women today enjoy some level of freedom due to Nehru's HCB...but RSS is a fascist organization...it is initiating a counter revolution in Indian society...it is hell-bent on rolling back whatever reforms and progress Indian society has made in terms of advancement in civil rights, upliftment of weaker sections, and women emancipation...

RSS-BJP are crooked forces...they do things undercover...in a clandestine manner...they did not attack HCB directly...

By attacking TT, BJP first communalised the personal law issue...they gathered massive support among Hindu secular-progressive women and liberals...Muslim women enjoying a modicum of freedom were swayed too...

With this support, and the environs it created, it was only a matter of time before RSS-BJP got in a legal manner what they always wanted: the power to legislate on personal law...

And fascists will use this power not to reform Muslim personal law or bring in a progressive UCC...they are demons in human form...in the name of UCC, they will whittle down/distort the progressive aspects of Nehru's HCB...

 

Forget about the 'upliftment' of Muslim women...Hindu women should get ready to return legally to being housewives...widows should get ready to lose their right to remarry...divorcees should get ready for the humiliation of living as second class citizens with men they hate...and daughter, sisters, wives and mothers should get ready to give up their rights of property...and accept polygamy...

Musalmaan to vaise bhee bhagwaan bharose reh rahen hain...by the time fascists will be through, Hindu women will be 'bombed' back to middle ages...

And they will look at Muslim women and envy the rights enshrined in a religious book compiled in the 7th century...

Thanks for highlighting this. It is a CRIMINAL ACT for a male priest
to take this group of minor Catholic girls into a dense forest at
night.What were the parents of these children thinking entrusting th
precious chastity of their daughters to this priest ?

Over the years all manner of fake priests, babas, maulvis, have abused
the innocence of their "flocks" for personal gain. All these Vaticans,
temples, ashrams etc have become power centres based on greed, lust,
debauchery and exploitation.

It is high time that the educated / intelligent people of India (ie.
if there any still left) conbine to wipe out these dens of corruption
and licentiousness and raze them to the ground.

On a side note, last month our great Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi
had invited me to an inter-faith gathering of about 25 religious
leaders, I (on behalf of Hindu Samaj of India) was the only one who
told them to their face and publicly and in writing that they were all
mainly frauds preying on innocent and desperate people who are left
with nowhere to go (corrupt courts / police / babudom) except to pray
for a better 2nd life through all these instittutional religious
rascals. It is unikel that I will be invited again.

I sincerely hope that Kailash Satyarthi respects the Arya Samaj
traditions of his late father-in-law (who I knew many years ago) and
does not seek support of these knd of people to project himself. As it
is the people are starting to get fed up with Mr. Modi and Mr. Amit
Shah (and their rigged voting machines) and the RSS forces are now
starting all sorts of these FAKE morchas and andolans to distract and
divert our foolish public.

I hope that you shall pursue this rogue priest through the criminal
system of India instead of submitting to some Vatican delegate and
sweeping such things under the carpet.

It was a very providential escape for those seven minor girls, four of whom are from Ribandar, who went straying on that unauthorized trekking expedition into the deep forest of the Mhadei Wildlide Sanctuary. Highly irresponsible was the conduct of Melany Pinto who very carelessly misled these young girls into that thick forest which is infested with wild animals and thus endangered the lives of these minor girls while they remained vulnerable in that forest all night.

Melany Pinto who is attached to a religious order "Heralds of the Gospel" earlier used to assist the Parish Priest of Caranzalem and is now seen at the Ribandar Church. His gross misconduct in taking these minor girls on that totally reckless expedition needs to be taken very serious note of.  

Our Ribandar Church over the years has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. And that saga seems unending…Its time His Grace the Archbishop of Goa Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao cracks the whip and seeks an immediate explanation.

Despite the Faizabad administration not allowing placards inside Ayodhya, we held the 27th August #NoToHatred and #NotInMyName successfully in Ayodhya...

Here is the Facebook post with all 9 videos of the program, held inside a temple premises in Ayodhya...

We were told that ''you cannot take the name of a Muslim in Ayodhya" etc...

But, as you shall see in the videos, along with fighters of Hindu origin, we took the name of Muslim martyrs of 1857 in Ayodhya as well...openly...

Most men and boys you see in the video are from Awadh...quite a few of them were in  BJP...but consistent work by 1857 Nationalist Forum and Kisan Kranti Dal has made entire units of BJP youth activists switch over...the appeal of Sanatan Dharma and composite culture--Ganga-Yamuni Tehzeeb--of Awadh and UP is too strong an appeal to resist...

I do not believe in preaching to the converted...I might have written the film 'Bulett Raja' and two volumes of 'War of Civilisations: 1857 AD'; but what good is that work if it does not translate into an alternative narrative of nationalism that can challenge RSS ideologically, politically, and above all, emotionally, on the ground?

Yesterday was Dependence rather than Independence Day, Goa having witnessed a very unpriestly misdemeanor at a time when the country is shunning the very obnoxious culture of VIP treatment.

On the Annual Feast in the chapel at Goa's Raj Bhavan the residence of the Goa Governor, the Mass yesterday morning at 10am was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Arnold Pinho. It was attended by a very large congregation of over 500. All went well until just before the final blessing when Rev. Fr. Arnold Pinho suddenly paused and announced a halt in the proceedings as her Excellency the Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha was on her way.

After keeping that huge audience (which included a patient in a wheel chair) unnecessarily waiting for over 15 long minutes entertained with some hymns, the Rev. Fr. Arnold Pinho, on being informed that the Governor was infact not coming, gave the final blessings and finally wound up the Mass.

The Archbishop of Goa His Grace Filipe Neri Ferrao must take a serious note of this uncalled for behaviour by his Priest, demonstrate his strong disapproval and undertake appropriate action. It is on account of the repeated very weak leadership displayed by our Archbishop, that a lot of his flock has been moving elsewhere.

But having been baptized by parents and unable to get their consent as both of them are dead, I have no option but to respectfully hang on to the path they led me.
