Dear veterans,
First thing We thank you for all the great & good things you have done including protecting and to a great extent constructing this nation. We are few of those 790 million Indians placed in a list called BPL for our annual income is as high as below 60,000/annum, pl mind below 60,000/ and not 60,000/ it can be anything between Zero & 60000. We are the ones who elect our representatives and form a body called Government. We have authorized them to make rules, regulations, laws etc to effectively administer the nation in all aspects and to defend it from internal & external threats. You are well aware what happened during past 68 years.
Defence system existed as was created by our earlier masters. We added new dimensions to it including various other elements such as B.S.F., ITBP, Rastriya Rifle, Assam Rifle, CRPF, and others. Earlier our men used to be picked up and trained to protect an alien nation even in different parts of the world. Our men under difficult situations worked hard with their high moral despite little pay and perks of course hardly any privilege. After 1947, as many of you will still remember we took you all in our services while many of you were running from pillar to post for a job.You were a few lucky ones who were given this opportunity, were trained and paid at our cost, we provided you with reasonably good salary, free and subsidized accommodation, liberal promotions, class one medical facilities, good schools to provide quality education to your children and other perks including tax free canteen items, while we lived in dire poverty in highly unhygienic slums, sent our children to Govt. schools to be educated to be labourers or your servants yet paid our indirect taxes to support you and other servants like IAS, IFS etc. employed by us. You are aware (as you frequently refer it in your mails , letters etc.) our grade one employees who were given the task of administering the nation, took this as an opportunity to grab and set aside as much as possible for their future generations. However most of you dedicated your life to defend the nation despite problems and some even sacrificed their life ( a professional hazard since ages). Our elected representatives referred as leaders joined hands in the loot. But we have a method to change them though they have been successfully fooling us most of the time by dividing us. Dear ones today we are not discussing them. This is just to tell you that we the masters are being fooled by one and all while we continue to suffer in dire poverty.
Dear veteran how we wish we could give you whatever you want after all you have done a great favor ( Ahasan) to us by defending the nation when ever the need arose. You have sacrificed the prime time of your life. We 790 millions toiled the fields and worked in factories etc. to provide for you and to support you defend the national borders. We don't even remember how the time has passed leave aside the question of Prime time. We know some of you laid your valuable life to protect us, On our part we, honor you as martyrs and ensure good education and life for your dear ones left behind. Most of us even after 67 years of independence live in Jhoparies, slums and Ghattos trying to provide at least two square meals to our children but mostly fail. Many of us have to adopt the only course of suicide when there is no other way to save our mortgaged little piece of land once there is draught or flood etc. Our children, parents and other family members have to struggle there after. Leave aside active service even after retirement we provide you best of medical aid though most suffer because lack of proper exercise and no work. In our case we live only to die is the dictum, we can't even dream of it.
We appreciate you veterans are not fighting for few extra bucks after all you are well placed in all respects, Your children are well settled most in foreign countries( because we provided them free quality education),it is only the justice and Izzat you want.
Many times we think why should we not pay similar perks to our other defenders mentioned above. May be they retire after 60 years but then is it not that most of you get employed in various fields and earn comparatively handsome pay & perks and earn one extra pension too. There are many points but then We think it is not our job. Our job is to toil and provide to you what you demand after all you defended us. And if we don't meet your demands then the man behind the gun will get demoralized. Just think what a tricky situation we are in?
Dear veterans in nut shell, we rich guys of this country provided our defence forces best possible Pay, Perks, and Privileges during your active service and reasonably good pension, and privileges after service and stand by doing anything for you in future after all you gave your life/ prime time to this nation.
I am one authorized by 790 millions to write this to you and to convey our apology even though we will try and provide you what you demand. But now the time is running out. By 10.00 O Clock bank officials will arrive and take away my mortgaged little land. I have therefore decided to -------. Rope is waiting for my shrunken neck. Last thought about my wife and three children and aged parents. Oh yes my wife though not recognized Veer Nari yet will be able to struggle by working in others fields/ houses and bring up my children to work in fields to support the defenders of my nation. Neck in the rope, kick the stool and here ----ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh------.

Oh yes up here now I can see things clearer
Today recognised Aam Aadami is struggling, agitating.
First they fought against the corruption ( It is another matter they are the corrupt busy protecting the corrupt)
Secondly they are fighting for reservation (their basic right as most of you call it) for those who are the best placed socially and economically in the country.
And now it is OROP(Our rescuers & Our protectors) agitating to demoralize our man behind the gun and help destabilize the system they presumably protected.

Mr Rajan,
You left out one thing: that is in almost every case of misuse of office for personal gains the armed forces do come down heavily on the culprit and it happens only in the armed forces. In civil it is almost that everything is only misuse of office and nothing else. Ever since 15 Aug 1947, the government is not only synonymous with corruption but with treason and treason of the worst kind!

I am a supporter of OROP since the time it was first mentioned, many years ago, but not implemented by the BJP or Congress when they were in power. I have family members who served in the forces, and have taken great pride in watching the Armed Forces at the Republic Day Parade and other occassions. Like the Veterans in UK, USA and European countries, we need to let our retired forces live with dignity. A lot of things have been doled out to them, like subsidised goods at armed forces canteens, low cost liquor, petrol pumps etc etc. There are on record instances of mis-use of position (which no doubt happens in other cadres too). I expect that all these doles can be withdrawn if they are paid well, while in service and when retired from service so that they can lead a dignified life.

Dear People Of India,
As you know OROP (One Rank One Pension) has been announced though with some warts which need rectification and after getting the war heroes and war widows, many in their eighties, on the streets, a sad spectacle. As there has been a lot of disinformation and lack of awareness, you need to know some facts. These have gone unnoticed.
1 We are Indian Army Soldiers. Countries like the US and UK and most other advanced democracies, with Armies that are facing conflict, venerate the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. The UK parliament has even passed a law called Armed Forces Covenant . An Armed Forces Covenant is the expression of the moral obligation that the government and the nation owe to the armed forces community. The covenant acknowledges that members of the armed forces sacrifice some freedoms and often face dangerous situations. It recognises that families play a vital role in supporting the operational effectiveness of the armed forces. It is only in India where our men and women have to go through the humiliation of a comparison with a discredited bureaucracy.
In the United States, 15 presidents have served in the Army/Army Reserve , 9 in the State Militias, 6 in the Navy/Naval Reserve, with 2 presidents having serving in the Continental Army. In addition, eight presidents served during World War II, while seven served in the military during the American Civil War. That was the kind of military service they did before becoming the President and Commander in Chief of the US of America. No wonder they respect their Armed Forces and their Veterans.
2 Your Armed Forces cannot be compared with the IAS, IPS, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF , NSG, Railway Protection Force, Rapid Deployment Force or the State Armed Police Forces.
A Nation can have only one Military.
The renowned sociologist Morris Janowitz had famously said: "The intimate social solidarity of the military profession is both envied and resented by civilians." A bureaucrat is in no way comparable to a man or woman who serves in the Armed Forces. Nowhere is this comparison even attempted, not in the United States, the United Kingdom or even China. It's laughable and making that comparison is ludicrous. Neither can the Armed Forces be compared or equated to other police forces of a Country.
3 WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU AND TO NO ONE ELSE BECAUSE :
(a) WE HAVE PLEDGED TO PROTECT YOU, AND WE LIKE TO KEEP OUR WORD !
(b). WE ARE SURE THAT YOU LOVE US AND WE KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT THE INDIAN MILITARY IS THE LAST BASTION OF HOPE WHEN THE GOVT MACHINERY, IAS, IPS, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF , NSG, RPFHAVE FAILED ----- AND WHEN FINALLY THE ARMED FORCES FAIL ; INDIA WILL BE LOST.
PLEASE KNOW THESE FACTS.
4 THE GOVT, FINANCE MINISTRY AND THE IAS/IPS LOBBY IS DENYING YOUR SOLDIERS OROP UNDER THE PLEA OF FINANCIAL SCARCITY . THE FOLLOWING WILL TELL YOU THEIR SCARCITY :
(a) OROP ALREADY EXISTS FOR 100% OF THE BUREAUCRATS, JUDICIARY AND ALL THE PARLIAMENTARIANS.
(b). OUR PENSION WAS BROUGHT DOWN FROM 70% to 50 %WHILE THEIRS WAS RAISED FROM 30% TO 50% IN THE 3rd CPC .
(c). IN THE 6th CPC THEY DOLED OUT NFU - A SYSTEM BY WHICH ALL IAS, IPS OFFICERS & GROUP A SERVICES (LESS ARMED FORCES) WOULD RETIRE AT THE HIGHEST PAY SCALE -THEREBY GIVING THEM HIGHEST PENSION PLUS OROP. THEY LEFT FORCES OUT OF IT.
(d). THE IAS ,IPS and the CENTRAL SERVICES also gave themselves ACP - ASSURED CAREER PROGRESSION - BUT AGAIN LEFT FORCES OUT OF IT . BY DOING THIS , THEY BROUGHT US DOWN SEVERELY AND HAVE MADE THE FORCES LEAST LUCRATIVE AND LEAST HONORABLE JOB. Without doubt the aim was to downgrade the Armed Forces of India. OUR ENEMIES ARE HAPPY AND WATCHING THIS GREAT DRAMA WITH GLEE ! Do you know that till date a DIG was was between a Lt Col and a Col . Now a Col has been equated with Non-Functional Selection Grade (NFSG). The rank of a DIG is now officially equal to a Brigadier. Both are now on a Grade Pay of Rs 8900. Because of the machinations of the Govt and the Central Services to run down the Military.
(e) THEY CAN "DONATE" $ 1 MILLION TO MONGOLIA, DONATE 1.25 LAC CRORE TO A STATE VOTE BANK, LET SCAMS OF LACS OF CRORE IN GOVT , IPL AND BCCI, give bailouts of hundreds of LAKHS to AIR INDIA but feel poor when it comes toRs. 8,300 crores for the Armed Forces personnel who are" FORCED " TO RETIRE YOUNG SO THAT THE NATION CAN SLEEP EASY.
5 It is not just Modi's promise but a four decade old promise, AN APPROVED PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE (KOSHIARY ) REPORT, A FAVOURABLE SC JUDGMENT (Maj Gen Vains ) and a promise by all Govts.
6 YOU CANNOT REMAIN INSULATED AND SEE VETERANS AND WIDOWS IGNORED AND THE STATUS AND PARITY OF THE INDIAN ARMED FORCES vis-a- vis OTHER GOVT SERVANTS DISTORTED. AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 1947 !!
7 GOD FORBID IF ONE OF YOUR OWN SON or DAUGHTER or RELATIVE IS IN THE FORCES ~~ WOULD YOU STILL FEEL THE SAME ?? WILL YOU SEND YOUR NEXT GENERATION TO THE ARMED FORCES NOW ??

8 WE ARE BARRED FROM STRIKES , PROTESTS, UNIONS ETC -FOR REASONS OF DISCIPLINE , BUT REST OF THE COUNTRY CAN GET WHAT THEY WANT ANY TIME BY RESORTING TO RIOTING, RAIL-ROKO etc !
9 HAVE WE EVER FAILED YOU IN PEACE, WAR OR TERRORISM, RIOTS, FLOODS, EARTHQUAKE ?? JUST LAST WEEK, EVEN THE SMALL SCALE RIOTS IN GUJARAT COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED BY THE POLICE OR THE PARA MIL FORCES ( !! ) AND THE ARMY DID THE JOB !!

CAN THIS NATION SURVIVE WITHOUT ITS ARMED FORCES ??
