Re: [IAC#RG] A vote for AAP is a vote for Congress

Dear Mr Vijay,

I think you have lost the power of discernment. Can't you differentiate between a Cobra and a cow, between Black and white?

How many politicians can you name who have sacrificed even a part of what Arvind Kejriwal and others have done for the benefit of people? How many have left their cushy cozy cocoons of bureaucracy to go on fasting for 15 days and struggling to bring a systemic change in way India is being governed.

Your statement is highly uncharitable and rather deplorable. Pls look inwards and ask your soul does your statement not prompted by some kind of vested interest? Think as a true Indian before you go to sleep.

Get well soon !

Rgards,
Kumar Pravesh

Re: [IAC#RG] In the matter of "Gory sexual assault by retired SC judge"

Tarun Tejpal will be facing the music as he deserves. What about the stalker Narendra Modi? Both men misused their positions in power with impunity. One invaded the bodily integrity of a woman, the other invaded the integrity of the private space of a woman. Stalking using state resources is a grave offence. For a possible future Prime Ministerial candidate, it is unacceptable. The BJP must drop him immediately. My view of course. Pavan Nair

[IAC#RG] PUBLIC NOTICE: To IAC's old volunteers now disillusioned with AAP

In the past few days many persons associated with the pre-split IAC have contacted me.

Generally they appear to be seriously dissatisfied with Arvind Kejriwal and what they claim is the "coterie" around him and their "Hitlerian" tendencies. Lurid details of Team.Arvind's  corruption and goonda ways have been shared with me. In one case it seems that the election ticket given to a poor rickshaw driver was withdrawn at last moment so AAP could resell it to the BJP and so on.

The question is what IAC can do for such people who are committed to the banner of India Against Corruption but not to its revolutionary ideology ? People who cannot accept that the anti-corruption movement is now far beyond simplistic pseudo-Gandhian placebos like LokPal Bills. People who are convinced about the holiness of Anna Hazare and Anna's demand for a LokPal Bill.

We had suggested to them, in last few days, that they rally around an iconic figure like Anna Hazare, Baba Ramdev etc if they are so inclined and organise a press conference with Anna on a video feed from Ralegan where Anna is recuperating. We also suggested to therm, that if they can still access any of the old IAC pages on Facebook (which still connects such like-minded people of the old IAC ) and they could use it to regroup themselves, and we would not (as a special short term exception) serve them with notices like we routinely do for misuse of IAC name/banners.

We would welcome if Shri Anna Hazare's Jan Tantra Morcha, or Baba Ramdev's BST  etc. takes all such persons into their fold, as IAC does not see the present issue as pro-Team.Arvind or anti-Team.Arvind or "betrayal of Anna Hazare"as being projected by them.

At the same time IAC, being a national level movement to open the eyes of patriotic citizens, reserves the right to publicly disagree or provide its inputs from time to time. IAC is also prepared to clarify most issues about the past and present IACs, except those which impinge on our operational flexibility.

IAC has always maintained that the so-called JanLokPal movement of 2011-2012 which took simultaneously place under IAC's banner for CWG scam andolan  is a complete fraud on the people of India designed by Congress and elements within BJP to cover up Common Wealth Games scam, and executed by Rahul Gandhi / Digvijay Singh through foreign funded anti-national forces for Jan LokjPal fraud to become a Frankenstein monster and subsume the IAC banner itself, and which HRA could never allow to happen.

IAC has reason to believe that the organised national  forces for corruption  (which go beyond party affiliations) shall even collude to the extent of ensuring that their AAP puppet (who may not be Arvind) is the new face of government n Delhi.

Re: [IAC#RG] @Shoma, Please have guts to fire Tarun Tejpal, if you can.

Dear Sarabjit,

Considering the matrix of capital held in the Tehelka publishing company, Shoma is a minority stake holder & TT has large stake. There are other companies, Sibbal, Jethmalani etc. named as equity holders.

What authority will Shoma carry to fire TT? On the other hand, Shoma should be asked to come forward and responsibly disclose facts internally. It will be her choice, then.

best regards,

Dear Devinder ji

The problem today, as you rightly observe, is that we cannot TRUST the
people we place in positions of power. Power corrupts and absolutely
power corrupts absolutely.

The problem with us Indians is that we seek HEROES (who inevitably
turn out to have feet of clay). We rapidly elevate people to dizzying
heights of adoration and then either bring them crashing down or (what
is worse) turn their memory into money making institutions  which
breed corruption and perversions.

Sir to combat this problem, ultimately Indians (Hindus) have to
understand what is wrong with Hinduism and absorb some of the
practical concepts from more recent religions (like Islam) which faced
and overcame the same threat Hinduism does from Christianity, and
which have incorporated counter measures into their dogma which
orthodox Hinduism sorely needs to integrate also. We have to move
beyond Vedas and Puranas.

Accordingly, as per views of IAC members being circulated, Tarun
Tejpal must be publicly flogged with whips (which shall break his
bones) and not with words (which shall never hurt him). All his assets
must be confiscated and handed over to the victim. Mere imprisonment
is not enough for the likes of him, seems to be the general consensus.

The way shoma is defending Tejpal she appears more as a facilitator! It is matter for someone to guess whether the incident suffered by the victim is a part of requisite by prospective candidates for  going up the ladder in the organisation! She appears to approve the wrong doings of the boss!!??

Subject: Demanding Justice
Dear Sir,
With due respect, I would like to inform you that I am a working journalist based in Guwahati of Assam in northeast India and want to place my grievances in front of you for justice.
Since yesterday, I have been looking the news related to Tarun Tejpal, the founder of Tehelka, who has been charged with sexual harassment and the editor-journalist is seemingly facing arrest soon.
The issue received massive media coverage after a young woman journalist alleged that Tarun Tejpal had sexually assaulted her few days back.
Media report says, "Mr Tejpal has also been charged with outraging a woman's modesty and rape by someone who had dominance and authority over the woman, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and a minimum 10 years in jail."
But with utter dismay I would like to inform you that I had similar experience of abuses by a senior editor of Assam in 2003 and I had publicly demanded actions against Homen Borgohain, editor of Amar Asom, a popular Assamese daily newspaper published from GL Publications, Guwahati.
I was then working as Chief Sub-Editor with Amar Asom and for three years I had to face repeated sexual and professional harassment from the said editor. I also organised a formal press conference in Guwahati Press Club on 10th September 2003, where I raised my demand for justice. I also had to resign from the newspaper after that.
Earlier, I registered a case in Assam State Commission for Women (case no: ASCW 44/2003) and another with Assam Human Rights Commission (case no: 4652/03).
I also sent letters to the Press Council of India and to the Editors' Guild of India. A protest meeting was also organized in the press club auditorium on 12th September 2003 by the Journalists Action Committee and the Journalists Union of Assam (affiliated to Indian Journalists Union) in association with the Assam Tribune Employees Union, the Assam Press Correspondents Union, and the National Federation of Newspaper Employees etc.
I also lodged an FIR on 17th September 2003 at Paltan Bazar PS (Guwahati-781001, case number: 321/17-09-03, section 354/509 IPC).
Following my complains, the Assam Human Rights Commission   asked the management of Amar Asom to constitute a redressal committee in its office as per the landmark judgement of the Supreme Court of India on sexual harassment at the workplace (popularly known as the Vishaka case).
The management accordingly formed the redressal committee  and  I was called by the committee to record my grievances. However, the most amazing part was the fact that the same committee had never called the accused (Homen Borgohain)!
The police did not investigate the case properly and even they did not dare to call Homen Borgohain for interrogation.
I am waiting for the justice for ten years and do not know how many years I have to wait for the same.
Will you kindly take note of the case and take necessary actions.
Thanking you in anticipation.
With regards,
Sabita Lahkar,
Guwahati

Its common knowledge Tehelka has increasingly become just another paid news outlet.
