The site was only activated on 27.Feb.2013.
Maybe they will be giving out activation codes
manually initially during working hours.(ie. on Monday)

They also have a phone helpline - call on Monday and
see if it helps.

Re: [IAC#RG] Baba Ramdev to communalise politics

I find the methods of analyzying politics on this list sometimes impractical. You are unlikely to find a "clean" public figure or politician. Particularly among the "high TRP" mob.

In my view, if my focus is on India, then I have to look at the dynamics more than the picture. It does not matter if the prince is a frog. In the end, it is a basket of crabs whose energies will do one good thing - keep the others in check.

In my view, rather than look at who is "moral" or "honest", it is useful to begin as George Orwell begins his famous essay on Gandhi "SAINTS should always be judged guilty until they are proved innocent..." immediately followed by "..but the tests that have to be applied to them are not, of course, the same in all cases."

I have nothing for or against any public entity - Kejriwal, Ramdev, Gandhis, Modi, whoevers included. In my view what is interesting is what they do to each other, and which are the resultant gaps we can exploit to break the "elite club" wide open for more and more people to start messing with.

Thus, I am happy about all scam exposes, Ramdev's demands, scrutiny of Ramdev and so on. I am specifically grateful for Kejriwal and Co for being a wild card. I know many are certain that there are hidden agendas at work, (and I would be surprised if there weren't!) but fact is that many lines have been redrawn and others have been blurred, and this should be seen as a larger picture to exploit opportunity for the masses to get more and more information and disrupt status quos profiting some people using the abundant motivation of their rivals :D

I think that anywhere where established crony relationships get rattled in favor of the new corrupt is still a step up. And now that this can of worms is open, there will be escalating scrutiny and we should aim to do this over and over. I believe this will help the country more than evaluating individuals - none of whom appear satisfactory.

"Lesser evil" is bullshit. "This evil guy" is also bull shit.

The menu currently asks if you want to eat shit that is baked, roasted or cooked in spices. Same difference. More useful to look at the procurement process than menu.

Re: [IAC#RG] लोगोंको उल्लू बना रहे है क्या ? IAC brings CBI back under RTI (for now)

Dear Babubhai

If you choose to complain abut IAC's activities we shall have to find another IAC ombudsman to replace you.

As you are not on the operational side of IAC or India's RTI movement nowadays you have perhaps not kept abreast of developments.

On 31.Oct.2012 in Mr. C.J.Karira's CIC matter the CBI vehemently argued that all CBI does is investigate allegations of corruption. In fact it is admitted that CBI's primary task is to investigate allegations of corruption.

The proviso to RTI Act's section 24 makes it clear that even exempted organisations must disclose information on allegations of corruption under RTI.  So the bulk of information from CBI is still accessible under RTI. No doubt they got a stay order in Mr. Karira's case but it does not come in the way of other citizens seeking info from CBI

So CBI was never out of RTI for the info of allegations of corruption, and it has been brought back again by IAC (for now). CBI was never taken out due to proviso in section 24 RTI Act.

Re: [IAC#RG] RTI online facility seems operational

Let us see the tricks to be plied by PIOs. The e-filing in SC is operational since 1.1..06 but hardly 20-30 out of 25000 petitions per year  are filed through this innovative method. And most of these are filed by petitioners-in- person residing at distant places & dismissed at the initial stage without any virtual relief. It becomes difficult to tamper with and override priorities when the record is in electronic form which is disliked by the bureaucrats as well as advocates.SC talks to professionalize RTI by induction of law graduates as PIO, FAA leaving aside the question that Advocates/ Law graduates are the greatest hurdle to justice in India hence are prohibited in Family Courts, Some Information Commissions and Labour Commissionaires etc.  See more details at:
