Re: [IAC#RG] More than 50,000 cases in India confirms Health Ministry indirectly

To: Mahendra Rao

Replying to both your emails to me.

1. Health is presently a State subject. Committees have recommended it be transferred to the Concurrent list but nothing has moved on it.

2. The State Government runs these hospitals except for those under the Central Govt Health schemes or certain "teaching " hospitals like the AIIMS

3. The States are providing the data to centre. Unfortunately the data is not being collated properly at Central level, possibly deliberately, The MOFFW website has not been updated for 13 hours now and there is a 2,135 difference just now with the Telegraph channels tracking COVID19 because MOHFW hasn't added the Delhi, Chennai and Maharashtra figures for 2 days now on some ridiculous reasons. I suspect it is so that Modi can claim today that the India curve has "flattened" (which it definitely has not) so India-Inc can reopen for business. Here are YESTERDAY's graphs. Do you think curve has "flattened" ??

4.  The situation is already out of control with India being well into Stage 3. Modi is using trick he has to delay testing and deprive Urban population centres like Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Kolkatta (all opposition ruled) with testing kits, It is the height of irresponsibility and discrimination that till yesterday Delhi where the transmission rate is now R3.2 (38% daily increase) has only conducted 15,000 tests where 1,500 cases were confirmed.

5. The real news today is not on the State controlled media and newspapers but on end to end encrypted services like Telegram. The Government has blocked Telegram since last 96 hours and users have to use methods to circumvent the block and get correct information.

Hope this answers your queries

PS:  I voted for Modi in 2014 and 2019 because the rest of the lot were so bad.
