Re:[IAC#RG]

While agreeing to the opinion of Sri Rodrigues, I want to make an observation. Having seen the words of Churchill on state of Democratic process in post independent India coming true, I believe that unless an effective system of election process is put into practice, corruption and incompetence are bound to be more of a rule.

While the Supreme Court is currently adjudicating the vexed issue of selection of Supreme Court and High Court judges, it would be appropriate to also lay down the procedure and protocol for the selection to the High Constitutional posts of Attorney General, Solicitor General and the Advocate General in the States.

These alike the selection of Judges should not be choiced chums of politicians. The best and balanced legal brains need to be appointed after a check by the Intelligence Bureau on their antecedents as done in the case of High Court Judges. The last two Advocate Generals of Goa Subodh Kantak and Atmaram Nadkarni have been a living disaster and a laughing stock for the State. On these 'political play-boys' less said the better.
