Re: [IAC#RG] WILL MANMOHAN SINGH RESIGN NOW ?

MMS did not liberate the economy. It was done by Narsimha Rao. MMS functioned as an executive officer i.e. a bureaucrat with an appointment of finance  minister. MMS had became close to Congress /Mukherjee and he was appointed as governor of Reserve bank.He never looked back since then due to his special attribute to make his bosses happy.

Academically one cannot find fault with MMS.
Based on his research he published the book, India,s Export Trends in 1963 at the age of 31.
His 2nd stint with IMF moulded him as a beaurocrat.
Later on he became Governor of Reserve Bank as another IMF economist has recently taken over that position.
Narsimha Rao inducted him into politics when he was made the Finance Minister. Since then he has come closer to Gandhi family. Being loyalist and least politically damaging to the dynasty he was rewarded the PM position where he has miserably failed as a leader.
While liberalising the economy he did not think through the consequences of those measures and as a result one scam after another tumled out with regular and increasing frequency from 2004 onwards.Wikipedia lists the no of scams/scandles as 1 in 2004 to 7 in2008 to 20 in 2012. Total scams 75
during 8 years. For more details, one can see wikipedia.org/wiki/list of scandles in India.

Dear All.
We the people of India have been taken for a ride by the unscrupulous politicians  for the last several years.Characters with superimposed personalities are introduced as the saviours on whom we cherish more. Before he is bundled out,a new avatar comes out .Recently,an MP of amature political leadership could undo a cabinet decision which smacks of a very unpleasant situation that prevails over here .Manmohan Sing who has never contested from a Panchayat ward election was first ordained with the Finance Ministry to be followed with the PM post.He was credited of beeing an IMF man who was conferred with a doctorate for the thesis' PERFORMANCE OF EXPORT DURING 1952-1962',by the Oxford University. Naturally, the solidarity of a person hailing from such a background is irresistable. The million dollars question is ; Are we prepared for a change?

As much Mr. Manmaun Singh has been acting as an obedient boy, his frustration level has reached to a good understanding and adult maturity. MMS best advisors might be advising him to play dumb like Rahul did for some time. Even though, Sonia & Rahul wish for his real action (resignation) based on the morality, he may resist and give them little hard time. On other words, he may not step down willingly unless forced based upon constitution of India.

Being a nominated Prime Minister by Sonia Gandhi, it is for Sonia Gandhi to take this decision.
Rahul is playing hot and cold.
Rahul Gandhi has termed  the ordinance  to undo the Supreme court verdict on convicted persons from sitting in assemblies and parliament  as nonsense and said it should be thrown away. After throwing this bombshell, Rahul has written a letter of appreciation to P.M about his wisdom and good work done by him.  Obviously there is a deeper game being played by Sonia's Congress. P.M is 100% loyal to Rahul and Sonia who are running dynastic democracy in India.

It is time to consider  the consequences   lifting a person on to a pedestal for  which he is not suitable. Rahul's behavior is also erratic, like Nero played the fiddle when Rome was burning.

Dear Venkataraman,

There are more than one reasons for Manmohan Singh NOT TO REACT.

1.    He is inert and normally does not react.

2.    The Mom has served the Prime Ministership on a paltter, how & why should he react to her son's bullies.

3.     He has to prove his 100% loyality to the Family.

4.     Can anyone think that Manmohan Singh can forward the ordinance on his own (that too going against SC). This was a calculated move (Tabling the ordinance and then snubbing the PM).

5.      Any respectable PM who becomes PM on his own merits would have / should have resigned. Here the scenario is different.

There are so many reasons for him NOT TO REACT. One could write a thesis on the subject.

Rahul Gandhi has termed  the ordinance  to undo the Supreme court verdict on convicted persons from sitting in assemblies and parliament  as nonsense and said it should be thrown away.
While , by this statement Rahul Gandhi has tried to improve his public image , what about the public image of Manmohan Singh?  When the Vice President of the leading party in the UPA  makes  such strong  statement in public , Manmohan Singh has to react.
The option for him  is either to defend his decision to issue an ordinance  or  submit his resignation protesting against  the outburst of Rahul Gandhi in public .
At the fag end of UPA II  facing all round criticism, Rahul Gandhi has given  Manmohan Singh  an  opportunity to redeem his image by quitting on a matter of principle  where the Prime Minister's decision  is being questioned by the Vice President  of  his own party.
