Re: [HumJanenge] Re: Antony takes on Defence Corruption

We need a soldier to be the Defence Minister.Soldier does not neccesarily
mean a General officer.A soldier who understands the services and the
Politics.Major Jaswant Singh was a fairly competent Defence Minister in BJP
who understood both the parts of the game very well.Capt Amrinder Singh of
Congress can fit in very well in the same slot.Honesty of Antony can do
wonders in urban development and uplift of backward classes or any such
ministry.Purchase of equipment in the Army/Navy /Airforce where IAS lobby
and politicians have the major role in MOD is bound to be tarnished by
kickbacks and other favours by sellers essentially comming from powerful
nations to palm off their surplus/obsolete equipment to help their
respective nations in keeping their Defence industry alive .We have an
excellent Army which has responded to the call of nation in four wars and
perpetual insurgency operations.Present happenings are sending a wrong
signal to the rank and file which must stop at all costs.Washing of dirty
linen in public by all concerned must cease.Let ruffians not intrude in our
system and press/media play its role more deligently.

Warm Regards

So 2 "good" men between them have ensured that thousands of crores of
rupees will be sent out of the country to buy more and more arms which
are never used (and which probably dont work anyway - like the Barak
and Brahmos missile systems)
